Methods: Patients were randomly assigned to either the taltirelin group (5 mg orally, twice daily) or the control group. The primary endpoint was changes in the Korean version of Scale for the Assessment and Rating of Ataxia (K-SARA) scores at 24 weeks.

Objective: To identify the effects of subcutaneous drain insertion on wound dehiscence and infection in patients who underwent gynecological midline laparotomy.
Methods: This analysis identified the secondary endpoints of the KGOG 4001 study, a prospective, multicenter, non-blind, randomized controlled trial. Patients scheduled to undergo midline laparotomy for gynecological diseases and, with body mass index<35 kg/m, were randomized (1:1) to treatment (with subcutaneous drain) and control (without subcutaneous drain) groups from February 2021 to December 2021.

Objectives: Persistent postural-perceptual dizziness (PPPD) is a chronic functional vestibular disorder for which the Bárány Society has established diagnostic criteria. This nationwide multicenter study aims to investigate the clinical features of individuals with definite PPPD and clinical variant PPPD who do not fully meet the diagnostic criteria, with a particular focus on visual exaggeration.
Methods: Between September 2020 and September 2021, a total of 76 individuals with definite PPPD and 109 individuals with clinical variant PPPD who did not meet all three exacerbating factors outlined in Criterion B were recruited from 18 medical centers in South Korea.

Objective: This study aimed to update the possible clinical benefits of radiation therapy in recurrent ovarian cancer.
Methods: The medical records of 495 patients with recurrent ovarian cancer after initially undergoing maximal cytoreductive surgery and adjuvant platinum-based chemotherapy based on the pathologic stage between January 2010 and December 2020 were analyzed: 309 and 186 patients were treated without and with involved-field radiation therapy, respectively. Involved-field radiation therapy is defined as radiation therapy only to the areas of the body involved by tumor.

Objectives: The aim of this study was to assess the cost effectiveness of allogeneic umbilical cord blood-derived mesenchymal stem cells with sodium hyaluronate (hUCB-MSC) compared with microfracture in patients with knee cartilage defects caused by osteoarthritis (OA) in South Korea.
Methods: A partitioned survival model approach was taken consisting of five mutually exclusive health states: excellent, good, fair, poor, and death over a 20-year time horizon. Utility values were obtained from a randomized clinical trial.

Purpose: Although the estimated prevalence is extremely low, facial nerve schwannoma (FNS) is the most common primary tumor of the facial nerve (FN). In the present study, the outcome of surgical management in 18 patients with FNS was analyzed and an appropriate time for surgery was proposed.
Materials And Methods: A total of 18 patients with FNS who underwent surgical management by a single surgeon from 1999 to 2018 were retrospectively analyzed.

Objective: To investigate the association between genetic polymorphisms of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) or serotonin transporter gene-linked polymorphic region (5-HTTLPR) and tinnitus, and the mediating effects of psychological distress on this association.
Methods: Eighty-six patients experiencing tinnitus and 252 controls were recruited. The Tinnitus Handicap Inventory was used to assess the severity of tinnitus and the Beck Depression Inventory-II (BDI-II), Beck Anxiety Inventory-II (BAI-II), and the Korean version of the Brief Encounter Psychosocial Instrument (BEPSI-K) were used to assess psychological distress.

Objective: The purpose of the present study was to compare psychometric properties of the Substance Abuse (SUB) Scale on the Korean Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory-Adolescent-Restructured Form (MMPI-A-RF) with those on the Korean MMPI-A (the Alcohol/Drug Problem Acknowledgment Scale [ACK]), the Alcohol/Drug Problem Proneness Scale [PRO], and the MacAndrew Alcoholism Scale-Revised Scale [MAC-R]).
Method: Participants consisted of 237 Korean adolescent psychiatric patients whose scores on these measures were compared in terms of internal consistency and predictive validity.
Results: Scores on SUB exhibited superior internal consistency to that of the MMPI-A substance abuse scales.

Background: This study evaluated the effect of systemic injection of recombinant human growth hormone (rhGH) on outcomes after arthroscopic rotator cuff repair.
Methods: This multicenter, prospective, randomized, comparative trial, randomized patients who underwent arthroscopic repair of large-sized rotator cuff tears into 3 groups: rhGH 4 mg group (n = 26), rhGH 8 mg group (n = 24) , and control group (n = 26). Sustained release rhGH was injected subcutaneously once weekly for 3 months postoperatively.
