The post-pandemic era following the global spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus has brought about persistent concerns regarding recurring coinfections. While significant strides in genome mapping, diagnostics, and vaccine development have controlled the pandemic and reduced fatalities, ongoing virus mutations necessitate a deeper exploration of the interplay between SARS-CoV-2 mutations and the host's immune response. Various vaccines, including RNA-based ones like Pfizer and Moderna, viral vector vaccines like Johnson & Johnson and AstraZeneca, and protein subunit vaccines like Novavax, have played critical roles in mitigating the impact of COVID-19.

Prolonged and repeated drought, as seen in India and other parts of South Asia, is a symptom of climate change, which is partially the result of human interventions. The performance of the widely used drought metrics Standardized Precipitation Index (SPI) and Standardized Precipitation Evapotranspiration Index (SPEI) are evaluated for 18 stations in Uttar Pradesh state for the period 1971 to 2018 in this study. Drought characteristics such as intensity, duration, and frequency of different categories are estimated and compared based on SPI and SPEI.

Stress management is becoming very important part of cancer patient care. Chronic stressors lead to boost tumorigenesis and promote cancer development, recurrence, and drug resistant leading to poor health outcomes. The Hypothalamic-Pituitary-Adrenal (HPA) axis, which is activated by stress, also regulates Hypothalamic-Pituitary-Thyroid (HPT) axis.

Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection has disrupted social and economic life globally. The global pandemic COVID-19 caused by this novel SARS-CoV-2 shows variable clinical manifestations, complicated further by cytokine storm, co-infections, and coagulopathy, leading to severe cases and death. Thrombotic complications arise due to complex and unique interplay between coronaviruses and host cells, inflammatory response, and the coagulation system.

Specific functions in biological processes are dependent on protein-protein interactions. Hot spot residues play a key role in the determination of these interactions and have wide applications in engineering proteins and drug discovery. Experimental techniques to identify hotspots are often labor intensive and expensive.

The gas-phase kinetics for the reactions of OH radicals and Cl atoms with 1,1,1,3,3,3-hexafluoro-2-methyl-2-propanol (HF2M2P) were measured at temperatures between 268 and 363 K using the relative rate experimental technique. Methane and acetonitrile were used as reference compounds to measure the rate coefficients of the title reactions. For the reactions of HF2M2P with OH radicals and Cl atoms, the rate coefficients were measured to be (7.

Ultrasound (US) image segmentation methods, focusing on techniques developed for fetal biometric parameters and nuchal translucency, are briefly reviewed. Ultrasound medical images can easily identify the fetus using segmentation techniques and calculate fetal parameters. It can timely find the fetal abnormality so that necessary action can be taken by the pregnant woman.

Signal processing-based algorithms for identification of coding sequences (CDS) in eukaryotes are non-data driven and exploit the presence of three-base periodicity in these regions for their detection. Three-base periodicity is commonly detected using short time Fourier transform (STFT) that uses a window function of fixed length. As the length of the protein coding and noncoding regions varies widely, the identification accuracy of STFT-based algorithms is poor.

The Er(3+) -Yb(3+) codoped in Li(2)O content tungsten -tellurite (TWL) transparent glasses are synthesized and measured the absorption, Raman and upconversion luminescence (UPL) spectra. At room temperature intense green emission peak at 560 nm ((4)S(3/2)→(4)I(15/2)) and red emission peak at 670 nm ((4)F(9/2)→(4)I(15/2)) of Er(3+) observed even at minimum 86 mW pumping power of infrared 980 nm excitation. For structure of the TWL glass, Raman spectrum result revealed that an important role of WO(3) in the formation of glass network linkage with Li(2)O.
