We report a computational study of the bending deformation of two-dimensional nanoribbons by classical molecular dynamics methods. Two-dimensional double transition metal carbides, together with monometallic ones, belong to the family of novel nanomaterials, so-called MXenes. Recently, it was reported that within molecular dynamics simulations, TiC MXene nanoribbons demonstrated higher resistance to bending deformation than thinner TiC MXene and other two-dimensional materials, such as graphene and molybdenum disulfide.

DFT calculations consider the interactions between linear MR and a series of N-bases, where M is Hg or Zn and its R substituents are CCH, CN, or NO. NCH, NH, and NMe were considered as three different N-bases. Zn forms stronger bonds with the N bases than does Hg, and they strengthen along with the electron-withdrawing power of the R substituent, varying over a wide range from 3.

The phenomenon of rate-dependent adhesion has long been recognized as an intricate problem, and the so-far-developed physics and mechanics-based approaches resulted in analytical relations between the implicit form between the work of adhesion and the contact front velocity which are difficult to implement in practice. To address this issue in the framework of spherical indentation, the adhesion relaxation test in a nominal point contact is introduced to estimate the rate-dependent adhesion. Based on a stretched exponent approximation for the contact radius evolution with time, a relatively simple four-parameter model is proposed for the functional relation between the work of adhesion and the contact front velocity, and its fitting performance is compared to that of the known Greenwood-Johnson and Persson-Brener models.

The assessment of perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) photocatalytic degradation usually involves tedious pre-treatment and sophisticated instrumentation, making it impractical to evaluate the degradation process in real-time. Herein, we synthesized a series of lanthanide metal-organic frameworks (Ln-MOFs) with outstanding fluorescent sensing properties and applied them as luminescent probes in the photocatalytic degradation reaction of PFOA for real-time evaluation. As the catalytic reaction proceeds, the fluorescence color changes significantly from green to orange-red due to the different interaction mechanisms between the electron-deficient PFOA and smaller radius F with the ratiometric fluorescent probe MOF-76 (Tb: Eu = 29:1).

In this article, the numerical solutions for the heat transfer flow of an upper-convected Maxwell fluid across an exponentially stretched sheet with a chemical reaction on the Cattaneo-Christov heat flux model have been investigated. Using similarity transformation, the controlling system of nonlinear partial differential equations was transformed into a system of ordinary differential equations. The resulting converted equations were solved numerically by a successive linearization method with the help of MATLAB software.
