We study the electronic structure, stability, and thermal and optical properties of hexagonal SrS and SrSe monolayers using first-principles calculations. PBEsol generally improves the calculated equilibrium properties of solids and their surfaces, predicting a wider band gap of the monolayers, which is closer to the results obtained with HSE06. Phonon dispersion relations and the molecular dynamics (AIMD) method confirm the dynamic and thermal stability of both structures.

Clinopodium menthifolium (wood calamint) is a folkloric medicinal plant ingested as a treatment for many human disorders including gastric disorders. Our study evaluates the anti-ulcer potentials of Clinopodium menthifolium ethanol extracts (CMEE) in induced gastric ulcers in rats. Thirty Dawley male rats were divided into 5 groups: normal and ulcer controls, treated orally with Tween 20%; reference rats treated with Omeprazole 20 mg/kg, and the remaining two groups received 250 and 500 mg/kg CMEE for 2 weeks.

Carmoisine dye, a red azo food colorant commonly utilized to impart a red color to synthetic food products, is the subject of this study. Here, we present a novel reversed flow injection analysis with a chemiluminescence detection (FIA-CL) method employing a newly developed homemade flow cell to determine carmoisine dye. This developed method is based on the inhibition effect of the dye on the chemiluminescence light (CL) emission generated from a luminal-hypochlorite system, whereby the reduction in CL intensity correlates directly with the concentration of carmoisine dye.

Extracellular vesicles (EVs) function as natural delivery vectors and mediators of biological signals across tissues. Here, by leveraging these functionalities, we show that EVs decorated with an antibody-binding moiety specific for the fragment crystallizable (Fc) domain can be used as a modular delivery system for targeted cancer therapy. The Fc-EVs can be decorated with different types of immunoglobulin G antibody and thus be targeted to virtually any tissue of interest.

Converting solid iron oxide nanoparticles into a "pseudo-water-soluble" form before applying them to chemiluminescent reactions leads to enhance the chemiluminescence intensity. Using 8-hydroxyquinoline as a colloidal agent, a new, fast, and simple method of synthesizing pseudo-water-soluble FeO nanoparticles was developed. SEM, VSM, SAED, HRTEM, XRD, FTIR, and EDS techniques were used to characterize the synthesized FeO nanoparticles.

The fruit extract ofand the eutectic-based ionic liquid were utilized, in an eco-friendly, inexpensive, simple method, for synthesizing zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO NPs). The influence of the reducing, capping and stabilizing agents, in both mediums, on the structure, optical, and morphological properties of ZnO NPs was extensively investigated. The surface plasmon resonance peaks were observed at 340 nm and 320 nm for the fruit-based and the eutectic-based ionic liquid mediums, respectively, indicating the formation of ZnO NPs.
