Background: A successful endovascular treatment for acute type A dissection has been recently reported. However, there has been no consensus regarding the appropriate stent graft size based on the estimated predissected aortic diameter for this pathology.
Methods: We developed new equations for estimating the predissected ascending aorta and aortic arch by investigating computed tomography images that had been scanned less than 3 years before dissection.
Objectives: This study sought to compare the procedural outcomes of percutaneous coronary intervention for chronic total occlusion between the periods before and after introduction of 3-dimensional (3D) wiring.
Background: Previously, we reported a 3D wiring method by which the operator can construct real-time mental 3D images from 2 perpendicular angles of X-ray system monitor during percutaneous coronary intervention for chronic total occlusion.
Methods: A total of 137 chronic total occlusion lesions that could not be passed by tapered soft wires in our hospital between 2012 and 2017 were retrospectively enrolled in the study.

Background: Although extensive substrate modification in addition to pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) has been recommended in catheter ablation for persistent atrial fibrillation (AF), recent randomized controlled trials have not demonstrated efficacy of such additional ablations.
Methods And Study Design: The Osaka Cardiovascular Conference will conduct a multicenter, randomized, open-label trial aiming to examine whether PVI alone is non-inferior to PVI plus additional ablation such as linear ablation and/or complex fractionated atrial electrogram ablation in patients with persistent AF. The primary outcome is recurrence of AF documented by scheduled or symptom-driven electrocardiogram tests during a 1-year follow-up period after the index ablation.

Background: Previous intravascular ultrasound studies suggested the association of stent underexpansion with increased risk of stent thrombosis and restenosis. However, no previous study has addressed the association of the suboptimal angiographic result with target-lesion revascularization (TLR) in patients receiving new-generation drug-eluting stents (DES).
Methods And Results: RESET (Randomized evaluation of sirolimus-eluting versus everolimus-eluting stent trial) and NEXT (NOBORI biolimus-eluting versus XIENCE/PROMUS everolimus-eluting stent trial) are prospective, multicenter, randomized "DES versus DES" trials; 3196 patients and 3235 patients were enrolled in the RESET and NEXT, respectively.

Background: There are limited data on uninterrupted anticoagulation with direct oral anticoagulants during catheter ablation for atrial fibrillation (AF), particularly in Japan.
