Spatial prediction of the probability of liver fluke infection in water resource within sub-basin using an optimized geographically-weighted regression model.

Introduction: Infection with liver flukes (Opisthorchis viverrini) is partly attributed to their ability to thrive in sub-basin habitats, causing the intermediate host to remain within the watershed system throughout the year. It is crucial to conduct spatial monitoring of fluke infection at a small basin analysis scale as it helps in studying the spatial factors influencing these infections. The number of infected individuals was obtained from local authorities, converted into a percentage, and visually represented as raster data through a heat map.

Temperature and Preparation Time Intervals on Survival of Metacercariae in Pickled Fish (Pla-som).

This study involved two series of independent trials that investigated the storage temperature and time of raw fish to eliminate metacercarial infection in Thai pickled fish. Therefore, in this study the karyotypes and other chromosomal characteristics of 15 species in the tribe Systomini (Cyprininae) were examined using Ag-NOR staining along with fluorescence in situ hybridization (5S and 18S rDNA).

Introduction: This study investigated psychological distress among high school students in Thailand.A sample of 8,345 students from thirty-five Bangkok schools voluntarily participated, responding to a questionnaire and undergoing stress assessments. Socio-demographic factors including grade level, school scale, hometown, parental marital status, presence of siblings, gender, health conditions, online classes, and family monthly income were analyzed.

Spatial analysis of cholangiocarcinoma in relation to diabetes mellitus and Opisthorchis viverrini infection in Northeast Thailand.

Cholangiocarcinoma (CCA) exhibits a heightened incidence in regions with a high prevalence of Opisthorchis viverrini infection, with previous studies suggesting an association with diabetes mellitus (DM). Land snails were collected for the project 'Conserving Myanmar's Karst Biodiversity' from the limestone karsts in Mon, Kayin, and Shan states and in the regions of Tanintharyi and Mandalay between 2015 and 2017, through cooperation with Fauna and Flora International (FFI) and the Forestry Department of Myanmar. Here, we report on a portion of the collection, and list 17 species from seven genera of the Hypselostomatidae microsnails. Three new species from two genera are described as Tongkerd & Panha, , Tongkerd & Panha, , and Tongkerd & Panha, All new species are known only from the type locality in Shan State () and Kayin State ().

A high morphological variation and genetic divergence between different geographical populations in Thailand have peculiarly extended the uncertainty of species boundaries and blended confusingly with several species. To clarify these circumstances, broad sample examinations of the morphological variation, including topotype specimens, and phylogenetic reconstruction based on the concatenated mitochondrial dataset (16s rRNA and COI genes) were performed.

The emergence of the COVID-19 situation has become a global issue due to the lack of effective antiviral drugs for treatment. Flavonoids are a class of plant secondary metabolites that have antiviral activity against SARS-CoV-2 through inhibition of the main protease (3CL). Therefore, decreasing nitrate and nitrite concentrations in fermented fish are an alternative approach to reducing the risk of CCA.

Four new terrestrial earthworm species from the northeast Thailand (Oligochaeta, Megascolecidae).

Earthworm specimens collected from Sakon Nakhon and Nakhon Phanom, northeast Thailand, were found to contain four new species in the family Megascolecidae, with one species in the genus Sims & Easton, 1972, and the other three in the genus Kinberg, 1867. These are herein named Chanabun & Panha, in the sexthecal species group, and Chanabun & Panha, , Chanabun & Panha, , and Chanabun & Panha, in the sexthecal species group. Chanabun & Panha, occurs in dark clay soil of the oxbow lake of the river, Chanabun & Panha, occurs in wetland area, Chanabun & Panha, occurs in dark sandy loam habitats of mixed deciduous forest while the following species, Chanabun & Panha, occurs in sandy loam habitats of paddy fields.

Gingerol extract-stabilized silver nanoparticles and their applications: colorimetric and machine learning-based sensing of Hg(ii) and antibacterial properties.

This study focused on synthesizing ginger-stabilized silver nanoparticles (Gin-AgNPs) using a more eco-friendly method that utilized AgNO and natural ginger solution. These nanoparticles underwent a color change from yellow to colorless when exposed to Hg, enabling the detection of Hg in tap water. The colorimetric sensor had good sensitivity, with a limit of detection (LOD) of 1.
