Objective: SARS-CoV-2 infection primarily affects T-lymphocytes, particularly CD4+ and CD8+ T cells. However, there is a need for simpler and less expensive laboratory tests with predictive values comparable to CD4+ cell counts. Thus, the goal of this study was to investigate the role of neopterin levels in predicting intensive care and mortality in coronavirus disease patients in 2019.

Objective: : The aim of this study was to determine the factors associated with early neurological improvement (ENI) in patients who experienced acute ischemic stroke and were treated with intravenous recombinant tissue plasminogen activator (IV rt-PA), and determine the relationship with the outcome at the first control.
Method: : This study included 377 patients who were treated with IV rt-PA in Izmir Dokuz Eylül University Hospital between January 2010 and October 2018. ENI was defined as a 4 or more improvement in the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) score in the first hour, the twenty-fourth hour and the seventh day when compared to the pretreatment phase.

BACKGROUND Adequate visualization is known to be essential to perform arthroscopic procedures effectively and efficiently. We hypothesized that tranexamic acid may be considered as an alternative agent to reduce intra-articular bleeding during arthroscopic procedures, after comparing its potential chondrotoxicity with that of epinephrine. MATERIAL AND METHODS Seventy-two rats were randomized into 3 groups with 24 rats each.

Background: Prognostic factors and the standard treatment approach for gynaecological carcinosarcomas have not yet been clearly defined. Although carcinosarcomas are more aggressive than pure epithelial tumours, they are treated similarly. Serous/clear cell and endometrioid components may be predictive factors for the efficacy of adjuvant chemotherapy (CT) or radiotherapy (RT) or RT in patients with uterine and ovarian carcinosarcomas.
