Introduction: While the bedside head impulse test evaluates the presence of refixation saccades (RS) as a measure of failing vestibulo-ocular reflex (VOR) the VOR gain calculated by the video head-impulse test (vHIT) is considered the primary measure for semicircular canal function while the role RS is still under evaluation.
Aims: To evaluate the benefit of various RS characteristics towards the diagnosis of the left horizontal semicircular function by vHIT.
Methods: The vHIT recordings of 40 patients with left sided horizontal VOR gains <0.

Our aim was to identify national consensus criteria for the management of children with chemotherapy-induced febrile neutropenia (FN), for evidence-based step-down treatment approaches for patients classified at low risk of severe infection. In 2018, a five-section, 38-item survey was e-mailed to all pediatric hematology and oncology units in France ( = 30). The five sections contained statements on possible consensus criteria for the (i) definition of FN, (ii) initial management of children with FN, (iii) conditions required for initiating step-down therapy in low-risk patients, (iv) management strategy for low-risk patients, and (v) antibiotic treatment on discharge.

Debate regarding vaccinating high-risk infants with penta- and hexavalent vaccines persists, despite their good immunogenicity and acceptable safety profile in healthy full-term infants. We report the findings of a systematic literature search that aimed to present data on the immunogenicity, efficacy, effectiveness, safety, impact, compliance and completion of penta- and hexavalent vaccination in high-risk infants, including premature newborns. Data from the 14 studies included in the review showed that the immunogenicity and the safety profile of penta- and hexavalent vaccines in preterm infants was generally similar to those seen in full-term infants, with the exception of an increase in cardiorespiratory adverse events such as apnea, bradycardia and desaturation following vaccination in preterm infants.

Introduction: Current clinical practice considers the vestibulo-ocular reflex (VOR) gain as registered by the video head impulse test (vHIT) as the primary measure for semicircular canal function, while the role of the re-fixation saccades (RSs) is still under evaluation. The goal of the study was to appraise the added benefit of RS towards the improvement of vHIT diagnostic accuracy in cases of suspected left horizontal semicircular canal dysfunction.
Methods: The vHIT recordings of 40 patients with left-sided horizontal VOR gains <0.

Background: Paroxysmal tonic upgaze (PTU), defined as an involuntary upward movement of the eyes, has been considered as a benign phenomenon but may also be associated with ataxia and developmental delay. To date, CACNA1G mutations have been reported in autosomal dominant spinocerebellar ataxia designated SCA42 and in early encephalopathies with cerebellar atrophy but never in periodic childhood manifestations of PTU type.
Methods And Results: We report the case of a two-month-old infant with a de novo pathogenic variation of CACNA1G who presented with PTU associated with congenital ataxia and other periodic neurological manifestations.

Purpose: The EuroPedHp-registry aims to monitor guideline-conform management, antibiotic resistance, and eradication success of 2-week triple therapy tailored to antibiotic susceptibility (TTT) in Helicobacter pylori-infected children.
Methods: From 2017 to 2020, 30 centres from 17 European countries reported anonymized demographic, clinical, antibiotic susceptibility, treatment, and follow-up data. Multivariable logistic regression identified factors associated with treatment failure.

Multifamily therapy (MFT) for adolescent eating disorders (ED) is anchored in systemic theory and family therapy, but two conceptual and practical paths have emerged from this common framework. The first one, called ED-focused MFT, is centered on behavioral change and weight gain in the early stages of treatment, while the second, known as relationship-focused MFT, is less directly focused on symptom improvement and more on family changes. Compared to ED-focused MFT, validation of more relationship-focused MFT models has been lagging behind although they are frequently implemented and practiced in Europe.

Introduction And Hypothesis: Prolapse is a common condition seen in women and its therapeutical management consists first and foremost of surgery. Postoperative pain is one of the most common side effects seen after surgery. The objective of this study was to identify risk factors for postoperative pain after cystocele repair with mesh.

Thrombus in the left atrial appendage is a contraindication for cardioversion. Sludge is considered similarly as threatening as thrombus; however, the risk of death and ischemic stroke in patients with atrial arrhythmia and thrombus or sludge is not well-known. This study focused on assessing the risk of death and ischemic stroke at one-year follow-up in patients with atrial arrhythmia and thrombus or sludge, as well as the effectiveness of anticoagulation in thrombus resolution.

Background: Hypothyroidism is a very common disease that requires life-long treatment. In our study, we analyze the quality of the YouTube videos concerning hypothyroidism as a "source of health information" for the patients, and the (possible) correlation between video quality and video popularity.
Methods: We included 96 YouTube videos obtained by using the following search terms: "hypothyroidism," "Hashimoto's disease," "thyroid insufficiency," and "low thyroid hormone.

During the past years, there has been an alarming increase in cases of food allergy and anaphylaxis in ever-younger children. Often, these children have multiple food allergies and food sensitizations, involving allergens with high anaphylactic potential, such as peanuts and nuts, which have a major influence on their quality of life and future. After reviewing the current epidemiological data, we discuss the main causes of the increase in food allergies.

Background: Most patients with advanced pancreatic adenocarcinoma (PA) treated with FOLFIRINOX experience adverse events requiring dose reduction. We aimed to assess the association between relative dose intensity (RDI) and disease control in a European setting.
Methods: We retrospectively included patients with advanced PA treated with three or more cycles of FOLFIRINOX between 2011 and 2018 in six French centers.

Objective: To investigate whether palatine tonsillectomy in youth influences the risk of oropharyngeal cancers (OPC) by assessing the association between history of tonsillectomy and risk of tonsillar, base of tongue (BOT) cancer, and other head and neck cancers (HNC).
Materials And Methods: RACKAM was a case-case study comparing frequency of tonsillectomy history in individuals diagnosed with HNC from 2013 to 2018 in 15 centers across France. History of tonsillectomy was defined using combined assessment of patients' recollections and surgeons' visualizations of tonsil area.
