The colonial system of integration (CSI) provides intracolonial nutrient supply in many gymnolaemate bryozoans. In Ctenostomata, its presence is known for species with stolonal colonies, for example, vesicularioideans, but its structure is almost unexplored. The CSI is thought to be absent in alcyonidioideans and other ctenostomes.

In this study, we explore the charge transfer mechanism between WO and CuO in heterostructured WO/CuO electrodes and in a WO||CuO tandem photoelectrochemical cell. The physical-chemical characterizations of the individual WO and CuO electrodes and the heterostructured WO/CuO electrode by XRD, XPS, and SEM methods confirm the successful formation of the target systems. The results of photoelectrochemical studies infer that in both the heterostructured WO/CuO electrode and WO||CuO tandem photoelectrochemical cell, the major mechanism of charge transfer between WO and CuO is a realization of the Z-scheme.

Although Pb-based metal halide perovskites (MHPs) have excellent photoelectric characteristics, their toxicity remains a limiting factor for their widespread application. In the paper, a series of CsCuClxBr3-x (x = 1, 2, 3) MHP microcrystals were developed and their hydrogen evolution performance in ethanol and HX (X = Cl, Br) was also studied. Among them, CsCuCl3 microcrystals exhibit high hydrogen evolution performance in both HX and ethanol, attributed to their longest average lifetime and suitable band structure.

The gut microbiota is a community of microorganisms that live in the digestive tract of living beings and form bidirectional symbiotic relationships with them. It is known that gut bacteria play an important role in maintaining the functioning of the host organism, and disruption in the normal composition of the gut microbiota can contribute to the development of many diseases. The study of microbiota has been gaining popularity in recent years, and its influence on the course of various pathological conditions is becoming more and more undeniable.

The main research objective of this study is to conduct a detailed econometric analysis of the factors affecting the competitiveness of cereal production in Northern Kazakhstan and the Volga region of Russia, focusing on climatic conditions, irrigation systems, and soil cultivation technologies. The assessment of grain production competitiveness was considered for the period 2018-2020 in the context of the following indicators: grain yield, grain sown area, and gross grain harvest. The data analysis also included indicators of annual domestic grain consumption and total grain production in Kazakhstan and Russia.

This paper presents the results of a study on the characteristics of semiconductor sensors based on thin SnO films modified with antimony, dysprosium, and silver impurities and dispersed double Pt/Pd catalysts deposited on the surface to detect carbon monoxide (CO). An original technology was developed, and ceramic targets were made from powders of Sn-Sb-O, Sn-Sb-Dy-O, and Sn-Sb-Dy-Ag-O systems synthesized by the sol-gel method. Films of complex composition were obtained by RF magnetron sputtering of the corresponding targets, followed by technological annealing at various temperatures.

To prepare novel biodegradable copolymers with functional substituents that are distributed statistically or randomly over the macromolecule chain and have improved characteristics compared to homopolymers, we conducted a series of synthetic experiments with a novel cyclic monomer, 5-(benzyloxy)-1,3-dioxepan-2-one (). This compound was synthesized, and its homopolymer, as well as its copolymers with L-lactide, ε-caprolactone and trimethylene carbonate, were prepared in a polymerization solution with stannous octoate as the initiator. The formation of the copolymers was confirmed using NMR spectroscopy and DSC data.

Monoamine oxidase (MAO) plays a key role in the pathogenesis of central nervous system disorders, and MAO inhibitors have been used in the treatment of depression and Parkinson's disease. In the search for new classes of MAO inhibitors, the present study investigated a series of 1,2,4-oxadiazin-5(6)-one derivatives. This study provides the first optimization of the reaction conditions for the condensation of amidoximes with alkyl 2-halocarboxylates to yield the desired 1,2,4-oxadiazin-5(6)-ones.

3D-printed microporous titanium scaffolds enjoy good biointegration with the residuum's soft and bone tissues, and they promote excellent biomechanical properties in attached prostheses. Implant-associated infection, however, remains a major clinical challenge. Silver-based implant coatings can potentially reduce bacterial growth and inhibit biofilm formation, thereby reducing the risk of periprosthetic infections.

Background/objectives: A modern classification distinguishes between two nosological entities posing an intermediate risk between differentiated and anaplastic carcinoma: poorly differentiated thyroid carcinoma and differentiated high-grade thyroid carcinoma. There are currently few studies searching for the preoperative molecular genetic markers of high-grade papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC HG), primarily because of a recent WHO reclassification and singling out of a separate entity: high-grade follicular cell-derived nonanaplastic thyroid carcinoma. Therefore, this work was aimed at identifying PTC HG-specific microRNAs and mRNAs that reliably distinguish them from differentiated papillary thyroid carcinoma in preoperative cytology specimens (fine-needle aspiration biopsies).
