Osseointegration of Dental Implants in Ridges with Insufficient Bones using Different Membranes for Guided Bone Regeneration.

Background: The use of membrane with the guided bone regeneration (GBR) has been a controversial aspect of the implant placement, which helps achieve the primary graft stabilization and inhibit early graft loss.

Objectives: The present clinical trial was aimed to determine the results of GBR with nonresorbable (expanded polytetrafluoroethylene [e-PTFE]) and resorbable (collagen) membrane both clinically and radiographically for 2 years with dental implant placement.

Materials And Methods: 16 subjects having 32 sites for implant placement in a split-mouth pattern were included in the study.

Evaluation and Comparison of Caries Excavation Efficacy of Three Different Burs: A Micro-computed Tomographic-assisted Study.

Aims And Objectives: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of three different caries excavation methods using micro-computed tomography (micro-CT).

Materials And Methods: Fifteen freshly extracted human molar teeth with occlusal dentinal caries were selected. The teeth were sectioned longitudinally into two halves and were randomly divided into three groups ( = 10) depending on the caries removal technique: Group 1: tungsten carbide (TC) bur, Group 2: cerabur (CB), and Group 3: Excavus (EX) tipEX).

Sialadenoma papilliferum: clinical misdiagnosis with a histological decree.

Sialadenoma papilliferum is a rare salivary gland tumor clinically resembling papilloma originating probably from the excretory duct. It is characterized by a biphasic growth pattern of exophytic squamous component and endophytic glandular component. We report a rare case of sialadenoma papilliferum in the floor of the mouth with epithelial dysplasia with pertinent review of literature.
