Objective: To describe our strategy for the management of odontogenic cysts involving the maxillary sinus, and to define the role of transnasal endoscopic sinus surgery in the treatment algorithm.
Methods: A retrospective study was conducted. Included were all consecutive patients with odontogenic cysts involving the maxillary sinus who were treated in a single medical center between 2011 and 2019.
Autoimmune myelofibrosis (AIMF) is an uncommon cause of myelofibrosis associated with favorable outcome. Primary AIMF, AIMF without a known systemic autoimmune disorder, has been described in adults, but never in children. Here, we present, for the first time, an apparent case of primary AIMF in a 15-year-old boy admitted with profound hypoproliferative anemia.

Lung transplantation is an established therapeutic option for selected patients with advanced lung diseases. As early outcomes after lung transplantation have improved, chronic medical illnesses have emerged as significant obstacles to long-term survival. Among them is post-transplant malignancy, currently representing the 2 most common cause of death 5-10 years after transplantation.

Background The purpose of this article is to evaluate the association of voice signal analysis with adverse outcome among patients with congestive heart failure (CHF). Methods and Results The study cohort included 10 583 patients who were registered to a call center of patients who had chronic conditions including CHF in Israel between 2013 and 2018. A total of 223 acoustic features were extracted from 20 s of speech for each patient.

A congenital disorder of glycosylation due to biallelic mutations in B4GALT1 has been previously reported in only three patients with two different mutations. Through homozygosity mapping followed by segregation analysis in an extended pedigree, we identified three additional patients homozygous for a novel mutation in B4GALT1, expanding the phenotypic spectrum of the disease. The patients showed a uniform clinical presentation with intellectual disability, marked pancytopenia requiring chronic management, and novel features including pulmonary hypertension and nephrotic syndrome.

Classical xanthinuria is a rare autosomal recessive metabolic disorder characterized by lack of xanthine dehydrogenase activity that often manifests as xanthine urolithiasis and risk of drug toxicity. Variants in the or gene underlie classical xanthinuria type I and type II, respectively. Here we present two Israeli Arab families affected by type I xanthinuria in whom a c.

Methods and Results We evaluated the association between the CHADS-VASc score (dichotomized as high at the upper quartile [≥5] and further assessed as a continuous measure) and the risk of VTA and death among 1804 patients enrolled in MADIT-CRT (Multicenter Automatic Defibrillator Implantation Trial With Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy). A high CHADS-VASc score (n=464; 26%) was inversely associated with the risk of any VTA (hazard ratio [HR]: 0.

Background: Matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9) is a novel marker of intestinal inflammation. The aim of this study was to assess if serum MMP-9 levels predict clinical flare in patients with quiescent Crohn's disease (CD).
Methods: This study was a analysis of a prospective observational study in which quiescent CD patients were included and followed until clinical relapse or the end of a 2-year follow-up period.
To date, consumer health tools available over the web suffer from serious limitations that lead to low quality health- related information. While health data in our world are abundant, access to it is limited because of liability and privacy constraints. The objective of the present study was to develop and evaluate an algorithm-based tool which aims at providing the public with reliable, data-driven information based and personalized information regarding their symptoms, to help them and their physicians to make better informed decisions, based on statistics describing "people like you", who have experienced similar symptoms.

: CT-P13 was developed as an infliximab biosimilar in 2013. The primary structure of CT-P13 is identical to that of original infliximab and it has highly similar higher order structure, physiochemical characteristics, and biological properties. To date, data from real-life cohorts and randomized controlled trials show comparable clinical efficacy, safety and immunogenicity of biosimilar CT-P13, and the original reference medicinal Product (RMP).

Objective: The integrity of the scalp overlying a cochlear implant receiver stimulator (RS) is critical for the long-term survival of the implant. Exposure or extrusion of the device will likely result in the need for its removal. There is a global trend of acceleration of population aging, thus raising the prevalence of cochlear implantation (CI) in the elderly.

Hypothesis: There may be an association between a neurovascular conflict (NVC) of the auditory nerve and unilateral sudden sensorineural hearing loss (SSNHL).
Background: Compression of cranial nerves by vascular structures can lead to significant symptomatology that may require surgical decompression. Notable examples are trigeminal neuralgia and hemifacial spasm.
Background The Purkinje network appears to play a pivotal role in the triggering as well as maintenance of ventricular fibrillation. Irreversible electroporation ( IRE ) using direct current has shown promise as a nonthermal ablation modality in the heart, but its ability to target and ablate the Purkinje tissue is undefined. Our aim was to investigate the potential for selective ablation of Purkinje/fascicular fibers using IRE .
