Introduction: The shoulder rotator cuff (RC) is crucial to shoulder function and involvement in shoulder pathology. RC tears have been extensively studied, and several classifications have been devised to quantify their magnitude. Various RC measurement techniques were introduced previously, utilizing cadaveric specimens, X-rays, CT scans, and MRI with different results published regarding humeral heads' different plane diameters and the correlation to age, gender, and height.

Quantitative correlations between T2 and ADC values were explored on cancerous breast lesions using spatiotemporally encoded (SPEN) MRI. To this end, T2 maps of patients were measured at more than one b-value, and ADC maps at several echo time values were recorded. SPEN delivered quality, artifact-free, TE-weighted DW images, from which T2-ADC correlations could be obtained despite the signal losses brought about by diffusion and relaxation.

Robert H. Smith Institute of Plant Sciences and Genetics in Agriculture, Faculty of Agriculture, Food and Environment, Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Rehovot 7610001, Israel.

Calcium is known to improve seed-germination rates under salt stress. We investigated the involvement of calcium ions (Ca2+) in regulating HIGH-AFFINITY K+ TRANSPORTER 1 (HKT1; 1), which encodes a Na+/K+ transporter, and its post-translational regulator TYPE 2C PROTEIN PHOSPHATASE 49 (PP2C49), in germinating Arabidopsis (Arabidopsis thaliana) seedlings. Germination rates of hkt1 mutant seeds under salt stress remained unchanged by CaCl2 treatment in wild-type Arabidopsis, whereas pp2c49 mutant seeds displayed improved salt-stress tolerance in the absence of CaCl2 supplementation.

There is currently no quantifiable method to predict long-term clinical outcomes in patients presenting with a first episode of psychosis. A major barrier to developing useful markers for this is biological heterogeneity, where many different pathological mechanisms may underly the same set of symptoms in different individuals. Normative modelling has been used to quantify this heterogeneity in established psychotic disorders by identifying regions of the cortex which are thinner than expected based on a normative healthy population range.

Rho-specific guanine nucleotide dissociation inhibitors (RhoGDIs) play a crucial role in the regulation of Rho family GTPases. They act as negative regulators that prevent the activation of Rho GTPases by forming complexes with the inactive GDP-bound state of GTPase. Release of Rho GTPase from the RhoGDI-bound complex is necessary for Rho GTPase activation.
