The effect of the mRNA-BNT162b2 vaccine administered prior to fertility treatments has been addressed in several studies, presenting reassuring results. Cycle outcomes of patients receiving the vaccine during the stimulation itself have not been previously described. This retrospective cohort study included patients who received mRNA-BNT162b2-vaccine during the stimulation of fresh IVF cycles, between January-September 2021, age matched to pre-stimulation vaccinated patients and to non-vaccinated patients.

Nerve Reconstruction Using ActiGraft Blood Clot in Rabbit Acute Peripheral Injury Model: Preliminary Study.

This preliminary study aimed to investigate an ActiGraft blood clot implant (RedDress Ltd., Pardes-Hanna, Israel) attempting to treat and induce the regeneration of a completely injured peripheral nerve with a massive loss defect. The tibial portion of the sciatic nerve in 11 rabbits was transected, and a 25 mm nerve gap was reconnected using a collagen tube.

Urological outcomes following pelvic exenteration for non-urological malignancies.

Background: Pelvic exenteration (PE) is a major surgical procedure used as a salvage therapy for patients with locally advanced or recurrent pelvic malignancies. Urinary reconstruction is a major part of PE and is often associated with high rates of post-operative complications. In the current study we evaluate the short and long-term urological outcomes following PE for Colo-Rectal (CR) and gyneco-oncological (GO) malignancies.

Aims: We aimed to assess the likelihood of LV recovery following TAVI, examine its association with midterm mortality, and identify independent predictors of LV function.

Methods: In our multicentre registry of 17 TAVI centres in Western Europe and Israel, patients were stratified by baseline LV function (ejection fraction [EF] >/≤30%) and LV response: no LV recovery, LV recovery (EF increase ≥10%), and LV normalisation (EF ≥50% post-TAVI).

Validated mobile applications in otolaryngology head and neck surgery for patient and physicians: A systematic literature review.

Importance: Mobile apps in the field of ORL-HNS, are widely used by patients and physicians, but neither necessarily developed in collaboration with healthcare professionals nor subjected to regulations by the United States Food and Drug Administration guidelines, with a resultant potential of risk for its users.

Objective: To provide the ORL-HNS physician with an updated list of scientific peer review literature- validated mobile apps for safe use for both the clinician and the patients, for screening, diagnosis, therapy and follow up for various ORL-HNS pathologies.

Evidence Review: A comprehensive systematic review of the scientific literature was conducted in "PubMed," "EMBASE," and "Web of Science" without limitation of publication date up to January 1st, 2023.

Vitamin D and Insulin-Dependent Diabetes: A Systematic Review of Clinical Trials.

(1) Background: Vitamin D supplementation after type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM) onset has led to conflicting results on beta-cell preservation. Aim: This paper presents a systematic review to verify whether randomized prospective controlled trials (RCTs) demonstrate that improved vitamin D status confers protection on T1DM. KSR1, a key scaffold protein for the MAPK pathway, facilitates ERK activation upon growth factor stimulation. We recently demonstrated that KSR1 binds the Ca-binding protein calmodulin (CaM), thereby providing an intersection between KSR1-mediated and Ca signaling. In this study, we set out to generate a KSR1 point mutant with reduced Ca/CaM binding in order to unravel the functional implications of their interaction.

TAVR-in-TAVR with a balloon-expandable valve for paravalvular leak.

Introduction: Paravalvular leak (PVL) is a severe complication of transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) that can lead to poor outcomes. TAVR-in-TAVR is a promising treatment for PVL; however, reports on its safety or efficacy are limited. In this study, we aimed to investigate the clinical outcomes of TAVR-in-TAVR using balloon-expandable prostheses for PVLs after TAVR.

Background: Consuming opioid agonists is a risk factor for cardiovascular disease particularly in intravenous heroin users. The monthly injectable extended-release opioid antagonist, naltrexone (XR-NTX) is an effective treatment for opioid use disorder.
