Combined nose and throat swab specimens were collected from patients with influenza-like illness (ILI) presenting to sentinel primary care clinics and tested for influenza virus by RT-PCR.

Objective: To assess the effect of blood transfusions in neonates on partial pressure of oxygen in arterial blood (PaO), arterial hemoglobin oxygen saturation (SaO) and arterial hemoglobin oxygen saturation as measured by pulse oximetry (SpO).

More than a decade has elapsed since the first international guidelines on the diagnosis and management of pericardial diseases were issued by the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) in 2004. Since then, significant advances have been made in this field due to several randomized double blinded controlled trials and also retrospective, as well as prospective, cohort studies that were conducted during this time frame. However, despite the amount of knowledge that has been accumulated, only Spanish and Brazilian national societies of cardiology have so far published national guidelines on the management of pericardial diseases.

Objective: Performance of noninvasive prenatal screening (NIPS) methodologies when applied to low fetal fraction samples is not well established. The single-nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) method fails samples below a predetermined fetal fraction threshold, whereas some laboratories employing the whole-genome sequencing (WGS) method report aneuploidy calls for all samples.
