Introduction: The study aimed to develop a nano-based drug delivery system for the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), a type of liver cancer that accounts for 90% of all liver malignancies. The study focused on the use of cabozantinib (CNB), a potent multikinase inhibitor that targets the VEGF receptor 2, as the chemotherapeutic drug. We developed CNB-loaded nanoparticles made from Poly D, L-lactic-co-glycolic acid, and Polysarcosine (CNB-PLGA-PSar-NPs) for use in human HepG2 cell lines.

Background: Angiotensin II type 1 (AT 1) receptor antagonist (angiotensin receptor blocker [ARB]) called Olmesartan medoxomil (OLM) prevents angiotensin II from acting on the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone pathway, which is a crucial factor in the development of hypertension. OLM is reported to rapidly hydrolyze into its active metabolite, Olmesartan, in plasma after oral treatment.

Objective: The objective of the ongoing study was to develop an easy-to-use, precise, and reliable RP-HPLC method for the determination of Olmesartan in bulk as well as pharmaceutical dosage forms.

Resistance to antibiotics is leading to challenges in the treatment of microbial diseases. One amongst the various approaches to control these pathogens is quorum sensing (QS), which is used to rectify resistance issues. Blocking the bacterial QS circuit is the most reliable anti-virulence therapy to control pathogenicity-associated genes.

In the current era, the Transdermal delivery of bioactive molecules has become an area of research interest. The transdermal route of administration enables direct entry of bioactive molecules into the systemic circulation with better and easy accessibility, bypassing the hepatic metabolism and improving patient compliance. Permeation through the skin has always been a barrier.

At present, CO photoreduction to value-added chemicals/fuels and photocatalytic hydrogen generation by water splitting are the most promising reactions to fix two main issues simultaneously, rising CO levels and never-lasting energy demand. CO, a major contributor to greenhouse gases (GHGs) with about 65% of the total emission, is known to cause adverse effects like global temperature change, ocean acidification, greenhouse effects, etc. The idea of CO capture and its conversion to hydrocarbons can control the further rise of CO levels and help in producing alternative fuels that have several further applications.

The study aimed to create D-α-Tocopherol polyethylene glycol 1000 succinate (TPGS) nanostructured lipid carriers (NLC) of sorafenib tosylate (ST) as lymphatic delivery systems (LDDS) to fight Metastatic colorectal cancer. Initially, ST-SLN, ST-NLC, and ST-LNE were formulated considering oleic acid (OA), glycerol monolinoleate (GMO), glycerol monolinoleate (GML) as solid lipid and further characterised, and tested for stability. The most stable ST-NLC was fabricated with TPGS to produce ST-TPGS-NLC and evaluated by performing drug profiling, cytotoxicity, and apoptotic studies against human female colorectal adenocarcinoma cell lines (SW48 Cells PTEN).

Retinoic acid (RA) is essential for gut endoderm development and has been extensively used for pancreatic differentiation from human pluripotent stem cells. However, the gene regulatory network triggered by RA signaling remains poorly addressed. Also, whether RA signals control histone modifiers such as the Polycomb group proteins during pancreatic specification remains to be explored.

Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is one of the most lethal cancer due to poor diagnosis and rapid resistance developed towards the drug. Genes associated to cancer-related overexpression of proteins, enzymes, and receptors can be suppressed using an RNA silencing technique. This assists in obtaining tumour targetability, resulting in less harm caused to the surrounding healthy cells.

Multi-drug resistance has shown to be one of the leading threats faced currently in many chemotherapeutic agents. Permeability glycoprotein (P-gp) is an efflux transporter in membrane, an integral part of ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporters widely distributed in the body for cellular uptake. It is present enormously in cancerous cells and is in charge of generating transporter mediated resistance to treatments of tumorous cells in addition to blocking the entry of chemotherapeutic drugs into the cell.
