Introduction: Despite advances in modern evidence-based medicine, cancer remains a major cause of global disease-associated mortality. CAR T-cell therapy is a major histocompatibility complex (MHC)-independent immunotherapy involving adoptive cell transfer. Cancer immunotherapy witnessed a major breakthrough with the US FDA approval of the first chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy Kymriah (tisagenlecleucel) for relapsed or refractory (R/R) acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) in August 2017 followed by approval of Yescarta® (axicabtagene ciloleucel) for R/R non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL) in October 2017.

Objective: 1,3,4-thiadiazole (A), 1,3,4-oxadiazole (B) and 1,2,4-triazole (C) derivatives have been known for their immense pharmacotherapeutic potential. The current research article attempts to further explore and understand the probable biochemical mechanism related to antiinflammatory activity of derivatives.
Methods: The screened A, B and C derivatives were investigated for both in-vitro (Erythrocyte Membrane stabilization activity, Proteinase enzyme inhibitory activities) and in-vivo correlation using acute and chronic anti-inflammatory potential by carrageenan induced rats paw edema and cotton pellet granuloma methods, respectively.

Malignant mesothelioma (MM) is a cancer of the mesothelial lining of the pleura, peritoneum, pericardium and testes. The most common form is asbestos-linked MM that is etiologically linked to repeated asbestos exposure with a long latency period, although non-asbestos MM has also been reported. Late diagnosis, poor survival rates, lack of diagnostic and prognostic markers act as major impediments in the clinical management of MM.

Testicular cancer is an aggressive malignancy with a rising incidence rate across the globe. Testicular germ cell tumors are the most commonly diagnosed cancers, and surgical removal of the testes is often a radical necessity along with chemotherapy and radiotherapy. While seminomas are receptive to radiotherapy as well as chemotherapy, non-seminomatous germ cell tumors respond to chemotherapy only.

Colorectal cancer is the third most common cancer in the world, affecting both men and women, and it is one of the leading causes of cancer related deaths worldwide. Current treatment modalities employed for colorectal cancer management have their own share of drawbacks, such as toxicity due to nonspecific action and chemoresistance that may develop during treatment. The quest and pursuit for newer drugs which can overcome these drawbacks has led to extensive research on plant derived phytoconstituents.

Introduction: Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) targets and modulates the immune system increasing the risk of other associated infections. Highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART) has significantly improved AIDS-associated morbidity, but has limitations of adverse effects, frequent dosing regimen leading to medical non-adherence. Drug delivery systems that target HIV reservoirs could potentially reduce dose-dependent toxicity and the duration of treatment.

Increasing incidences of sexually transmitted disease including human papillomavirus (HPV), herpes simplex virus (HSV), and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection in women have triggered the need for developing user-friendly potential prophylactic approach. Presently, although several therapeutic moieties are in place but none of them have prophylactic action, they are confined to provide symptomatic relief to the patient-researchers which have now recognized the need for discovering efficient topical prophylactic agents. One of these with great potential topical microbicide uncovered is vaginal delivery of small interfering RNA (siRNA).

Treatment of a variety of bowel diseases like Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, colonic cancers, colonic pathologies, and systemic delivery of drugs at the target sites can be done with the help of targeted drug delivery technique. Conventional colon specific drug delivery systems lack specificity and release significant amount of drug prior reaching the target site. Hence, efficient drug delivery system that ensures effective release of the drug at the colon is still a sought after research arena.

Background: Neutrophilic asthma is generally associated with the absence of eosinophils and activation of non- predominant type 2 immunological pathways. It involves bronchial inflammation followed by different degrees of airway remodeling. Neutrophilic inflammation activates specific cellular and molecular pathways due to inhalation of environmental trigger factors such as exhaust fumes, cigarette smoke, occupation-related agents, and infections.

sarco-endoplasmic reticulum Ca-ATPase (SERCA) is the major transporter present in sarco-endoplasmic reticulum (SR/ER), transporting calcium back into SR/ER from cytosol. The calcium-sequestering activity of SERCA facilitates relaxation in both cardiac and skeletal tissue. ER stress is one of the etiological factors in various diseases such as neurodegenerative diseases and diabetes.
