Introduction: The objective of the reported work was to develop Montelukast sodium (MS) solid lipid nanoparticles (MS-SLNs) to ameliorate its oral bio-absorption. Herein, the highpressure homogenization (HPH) principle was utilized for the fabrication of MS-SLNs.
Method: The study encompasses a 23 full factorial statistical design approach where mean particle size (Y1) and percent entrapment efficiency (Y2) were screened as dependent variables while, the concentration of lipid (X1), surfactant (X2), and co-surfactant (X3) were screened as independent variables.

Advancing age presents a major challenge for the elderly population in terms of quality of life. The risk of cognitive impairment, motor in-coordination, and behavioral inconsistency due to neuronal damage is relatively higher in aging individuals of society. The brain, through its structural and functional integrity, regulates vital physiological events; however, the susceptibility of the brain to aging-related disturbances signals the onset of neurodegenerative diseases.

Virgin coconut oil (VCO) and turmeric are traditionally being used in Indian cuisine systems; VCO is a natural combination of medium-chain triglyceride and polyphenols with established pharmacological potential. Curcumin isolated from turmeric is renowned for its anticancer properties, however, with limited clinical success due to poor bioavailability. Considering the lipophilic nature of VCO, curcumin added to VCO is expected to have synergistic/additive actions.

Background: Nasal inserts are novel, solid, bioadhesive dosage forms administered via nasal route for prolonged systemic drug delivery. The principle of the dosage form is that, after administration nasal inserts imbibe nasal fluid from the mucosa and form a gel in the nasal cavity in order to avoid foreign body sensation. The objective of this investigation was the development of chitosan/xanthan gum based bioadhesive nasal inserts of antimigraine drug.

Acitretin is a photosensitive oral retinoid with very limited data available on its degradation. The official HPLC method for acitretin determination was insufficient to resolve the degradation products generated during stability studies. Therefore, an isocratic RP-HPLC-UV method was developed for the determination of acitretin in the presence of its related impurities and degradation products.

A simple and robust analytical reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography method was developed and validated for simultaneous chromatographic elution of three cardiovascular drugs, namely clopidogrel, aspirin (ASP) and atorvastatin. The method was developed in rat plasma and dosage formulation with high-quality chromatographic separation between the drug peaks by using a stainless steel analytical column thermo beta-basic, C18 (25 × 0.46 cm, 5 µm).
