Meckel's Diverticulum (MD) is the most common congenital anomaly of gastrointestinal tract, occurring in 2% of the population. It is a true diverticulum and histologically all four intestinal layers are present within MD. There are various complications related to a Meckel's diverticulum, including haemorrhage, intestinal obstruction, inflammation and perforation.
