Functional consequences of protein ubiquitination have gone far beyond the degradation regulation as was initially imagined during its discovery 40 years back. The state-of-the-art has revealed the plethora of signaling pathways that are largely regulated by ubiquitination process in eukaryotes. To no surprise, ubiquitination is often dysregulated in many human diseases, including cancer, neurodegeneration and infection.

Background: The toxin-antitoxin system is a genetic element that is highly present in (MTB), the causative agent of tuberculosis. The toxin-antitoxin system comprises toxin protein and antitoxin protein or non-encoded RNA interacting with each other and inhibiting toxin activity. has more classes of TA loci than non-tubercle bacilli and other microbes, including chaperone system, and hypothetical proteins.

Background: Differentiated tuberculosis care (DTC) approach is the need of the hour to mitigate those risks and provide better treatment outcomes to reduce both mortality and morbidity. Before implementing such an approach, there should be adequate literature on healthcare facility assessment along with qualitative exploration on readiness and acceptability among various stakeholders that are currently needed to fill the gaps in National Tuberculosis Elimination Program.
Objectives: Our study objectives were to assess the availability of equipment, treatment, and investigations for managing patients under the DTC approach, to explore the readiness, acceptability, and feasibility of the DTC approach among healthcare providers involved in TB care provision, and to determine the knowledge regarding DTC approach among healthcare providers delivering TB care for COVID-positive pulmonary TB patients.

Pelvic fractures are the most common among patients sustaining high-energy trauma. They are associated with high morbidity and mortality rates, often because of high blood loss and injury to the lumbosacral plexus, genitourinary system, and gastrointestinal system. The age, complexity of the pelvic fracture, and pubic symphysis diastasis would represent risk factors for erectile dysfunction after major and neglected pelvic injuries; the neglected pelvic ring injuries could cause disabilities that manifest with symptoms like pain, lower limb length discrepancy, standing or sitting imbalance and even sexual dysfunction.

A 48-year-old male presented with proximal muscle weakness of the shoulder with difficulty in lifting objects above the shoulder in July 2012. Electromyogram was suggestive of chronic motor axonal loss with a myogenic pattern, and a deltoid muscle biopsy revealed groups of atrophic muscle fibers and hypertrophic fibers with pan fascicular atrophy suggestive of adult-onset spinal muscular atrophy. He was managed conservatively and developed bilateral pedal edema in August 2022.

Intrathecal morphine (ITM) retains an important place in pain management after major laparotomy since it is easier to administer and has a relatively lesser possibility of failure and technical difficulty. Aim The study aims to compare the effect of the administration of ITM with intravenous (IV) morphine administered by a patient-controlled analgesia (PCA) pump on postoperative analgesia after elective laparotomy.

Silver nanoparticles are the extensively utilized among all nanoparticles due to their antibacterial and wound healing properties making them highly suitable for medical and pharmaceutical applications. The field of nanoparticle toxicity is an emerging field and the present study aims to assess the biochemical, hematological and genotoxicity in exposed to different concentrations of silver nanoparticles for 7 and 14 days. Silver nanoparticles were synthesized by reduction of silver nitrate using trisodium citrate and was characterized using X-ray diffraction, SEM, HRTEM and DLS.

Objectives: Children with disabilities may exhibit a multitude of symptoms, and treatment requires a multidisciplinary approach for a satisfactory outcome. Lack of awareness among physicians, lack of referral, and lack of inter-sectoral coordination have hindered paediatric practice in Tamil Nadu, a state in India with a striking childhood disability rate that warrants a timely interdisciplinary approach. However, the perspectives of paediatricians on paediatric physiotherapy are unknown.

Vitamin D deficiency is prevalent in pregnancy and has been associated with increased occurrences of preeclampsia, cesarean delivery, neonatal bacterial vaginosis, and gestational diabetes. CYP24A1, recognized as a key factor in vitamin D metabolism homeostasis, encodes 24-hydroxylase responsible for converting 25(OH)D3 and 1,25(OH)2D3 into inactive metabolites. Recently, we have reported CYP24A1 overexpression in patients with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) and trophoblast cells exposed to hyperglycemia.

Macular Edema is a leading cause of visual impairment and blindness in patients with ocular fundus diseases. Due to its non-invasive and high-resolution characteristics, optical coherence tomography (OCT) has been extensively utilized for the diagnosis of macular diseases. The manual detection of retinal diseases by clinicians is a laborious process, further complicated by the challenging identification of macular diseases.

Irisin, is a new myokine, considered a favorable metabolic factor and inversely associated with non-communicable diseases. The biological activities of irisin are currently unknown; however, they include browning white adipose tissue, insulin sensitivity, and anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects. Triglyceride glucose index is a notable insulin resistance marker that predicts the risk of metabolic dyslipidemia and cardiovascular risk.

Dental caries (DC)-induced pulp infections usually undergo the common endodontic treatment, root canal therapy (RCT). Endodontically treated teeth are devitalized, become brittle and susceptible for re-infection which eventually results in dental loss. These complications arise because the devitalized pulp losses its ability for innate homeostasis, repair and regeneration.

Background Youth must identify their diabetes risk factors because the disease is currently affecting young people at an epidemic rate. The Indian Diabetes Risk Score (IDRS) is a reliable and affordable method for determining a person's risk of developing diabetes. This study aims to evaluate the ability of the IDRS to predict type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and investigate the relationship between diabetes risk and other variables in young medical students.

Iron overload is linked to heightened susceptibility to ferroptosis, a process increasingly implicated in diabetes pathogenesis. This present study aims to assess the utility of Lactoferrin in predicting different stages of GDM and explore its association with disease pathology and ferroptosis. In this observational study, 72 pregnant women were recruited and categorized into three groups: healthy pregnant women without diabetes (NGDM, n = 24), early gestational diabetes (eGDM, n = 24), and established gestational diabetes (GDM, n = 24), all receiving standard antenatal care at 12 weeks of gestation.
