The aim of the study is to identify a novel furan-based chalcone derivative as potent inhibitor against the H37Rv strain The pharmacokinetic characteristics, toxicity tests, molecular modeling, chemical synthesis and minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC; IC) were carried out to evaluate the antitubercular potential of the synthesized furan-based chalcone analogues against H37Rv. Among the ten target compounds synthesized, DF02, DF05 and DF07 had MIC values of 1.6 μg/ml equivalent to isoniazid and DF10 showed MIC values of 3.

Background: Cancer remains the major cause of morbidity and mortality. The nuclear factor kappa-B (NF- κB) plays an indispensable role in cancer cell proliferation and drug resistance. The role of NF-κB is not only limited to tumor cell proliferation and suppression of apoptotic genes but it also induces EMT transition responsible for metastasis.

In this paper, a multi-level algorithm for pre-processing of dermoscopy images is proposed, which helps in improving the quality of the raw images, making it suitable for skin lesion detection. This multi-level pre-processing method has a positive impact on automated skin lesion segmentation using Regularized Extreme Learning Machine. Raw images are subjected to de-noising, illumination correction, contrast enhancement, sharpening, reflection removal, and virtual shaving before the skin lesion segmentation.

Nuclear factor erythroid-2-related factor 2 () is a stress-activated transcription factor regulating antioxidant genes, and a deficiency thereof, slowing lymphangiogenesis, has been reported in diabetic foot ulcer (DFU). The mode of regulation in DFU has been less explored. Emerging studies on miRNA-mediated target regulation show miRNA to be the leading player in the pathogenesis of the disease.

Breast cancer (BC) remains the most challenging global health crisis of the current decade, impacting a large population of females annually. In the field of cancer research, the discovery of extracellular vesicles (EVs), specifically exosomes (a subpopulation of EVs), has marked a significant milestone. In general, exosomes are released from all active cells but tumour cell-derived exosomes (TDXs) have a great impact (TDXs miRNAs, proteins, lipid molecules) on cancer development and progression.

Background: Although social media has the potential to spread misinformation, it can also be a valuable tool for elucidating the social factors that contribute to the onset of negative beliefs. As a result, data mining has become a widely used technique in infodemiology and infoveillance research to combat misinformation effects. On the other hand, there is a lack of studies that specifically aim to investigate misinformation about fluoride on Twitter.

Topological indices are numerical descriptors that aid in the prediction of chemical molecules' physiochemical properties and biological actions. It is often helpful to forecast numerous physiochemical attributes and biological actions of molecules in chemometrics, bioinformatics, and biomedicine. In this paper, we establish the M-polynomial and NM-polynomial of some very familiar biopolymers, which are xanthan gum, gellan gum, and polyacrylamide.

Background: Sepsis is a dysregulated host response to infection that leads to acute organ dysfunction. The Sequential Organ Failure Assessment (SOFA) score is one of the gold standard tests in assessing the patient's status during ICU stay and also to predict the clinical outcomes of the patients. Procalcitonin (PCT) is a more specific marker for bacterial infection.

Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC) is the leading cause of death in all countries alike. In the current study, we have found out that Histone H3Lys4trimethylation is abnormal on YY1 in CD4T Helper (T) cells of NSCLC patients which is evident by Histone H3Lys27 trimethylation mediated via EZH2. We investigated the status of Yin Yang 1 (YY1) and the involvement of certain transcription factors that lead to tumorigenesis after depleting endogenous EZH2 in vitro by CRISPR/Cas9 in the CD4T1-or-T2-polarized cells isolated initially as CD4T0 cells from the PBMC of the control subjects and patients suffering from NSCLC.

Neurofibromatosis (NF) is an inherited neuroectodermal abnormality that primarily affects the growth of neural tissues, and Riccardi classified it into eight types. Segmental neurofibromatosis, which is a rare form of neurofibromatosis, is classified as type 5. We report a case for very unusual presentation of segmental NF with unilateral lisch nodules and uncommon sites involving the scalp.
