Musculoskeletal pain (MSP), which impacts bones, muscles, tendons, and ligaments, is a substantial worldwide pain disorder, characterized by muscle soreness, fatigue, inflammation, muscle spasms, sleep disruptions, and functional limitations. MSP is predominantly managed within the primary care setting. Recent consensus recognizes that heat therapy (HT) may provide potential benefits, especially in treating chronic MSP.

De-escalation of dual antiplatelet (DAPT) intensity may be considered in patients with high risk of bleeding after acute coronary syndrome. Some high risk patients after de-escalation may require antithrombotic therapy prolonged over 12 months. With the current guideline recommended strategies, there are some doubts and uncertainties with respect to the transition period.

Setaria pumila (SP) and latuca sativa are the prominent teff (Eragrostis tef) weeds negatively impacting yield. The allelopathic (weed-suppressing) effects of ten teff varieties were examined for plant growth inhibitory effects, as well as for antagonism against certain major plant infections caused by bacteria and their subsequent antioxidant properties. The in vitro germination and antimicrobial assays were carried out in controlled laboratory settings.

Background: Sickle cell disease, a debilitating, inherited haemolytic anaemia with premature morbidity and mortality, affects millions globally. Mitapivat, a first-in-class, oral, allosteric activator of pyruvate kinase, improves red blood cell survival by increasing ATP and diminishes sickling by decreasing 2,3-diphosphoglycerate. We aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of mitapivat in patients with sickle cell disease.

In order to assess the potential of fractionated Schizochytrium sp. protein as functional proteins, the proteins were fractionally extracted. The structure, thermal characteristic and cross-linking interaction of proteins, along with the gel properties of heat-induced gels were analyzed and compared to those of albumin from chicken egg white (ACEW).

Introduction: Evidence-based clinical practice guidelines drive optimal patient care and facilitate access to high-quality treatment. Creating guidelines for rare diseases such as haemophilia, where evidence does not often come from randomized controlled trials but from non-randomized and well-designed observational studies and real-world data, is challenging. The methodology used for assessing available evidence should consider this critical fact.

Understanding the dominant direction of association between cardiorespiratory fitness (CRF) and grip strength could help refine physical activity recommendations. We performed a Mendelian Randomization (MR) analysis to elucidate the bidirectional relationship between CRF and grip strength (GS). Using an inverse-variance weighted (IVW) MR framework, we estimated the strength of the GS (exposure)-CRF (outcome) association using genome-wide association summary data.

Prcis: In this meta-analysis, Kahook dual blade goniotomy achieved higher rates of surgical success compared to iStent/iStent inject implantation combined with phacoemulsification. KDB goniotomy demonstrated better IOP reduction at month 6 compared to the Stent group.
Purpose: To compare the outcomes of phacoemulsification combined with either Kahook Dual Blade (KDB) goniotomy (phaco-KDB) or trabecular microbypass stent (iStent and iStent inject) implantation (phaco-Stent).

The general synthesis of chiral unnatural aromatic amino acids has rarely been reported. We herein describe a visible light-promoted copper-catalyzed enantioselective C(sp)-H benzylation of glycine derivatives. The method demonstrated compatibility in coupling various -hydroxyphthalimide (NHP) esters derived from aromatic acids with glycine derivatives, providing a general protocol for synthesizing analogues of phenylalanine, tryptophan, and tyrosine.

Ultra-high dose rate radiotherapy (FLASH radiation) can naturally render normal tissues around the tumor tissue resistant to radiotherapy. In contrast, the tumor tissue remains sensitive to radiation under the same conditions. However, the effects of different fractions and dose rates on FLASH radiation remain unclear.

Endophytic fungi have a strong affinity for producing the same or comparable compounds to those produced by their hosts. Herein, genetic diversity and environmental adaptation of the species were briefly investigated. The genetic flexibility in represents an evolutionary mechanism that allows them to respond effectively to environmental changes.

The healthcare sector significantly contributes to global greenhouse gas emissions, with surgical pathology (SP) playing a notable role. This review explores the ecological transformation of SP, offering a global overview of existing challenges and sustainable initiatives worldwide. While some countries, such as the UK and France, have developed national strategies to reduce the carbon footprint of healthcare, including SP, many regions remain at an early stage of implementing green practices.
