Objectives: Intraoral periapical radiographic techniques are mandatory exercises taught to undergraduate students during their training. The key challenges encountered while teaching the bisecting angle technique (BAT) include correctly positioning the X-ray cone and adjusting the central X-ray beam to the tooth of interest. To address this, a custom-designed pointed laser light (CDPLL) was fabricated and attached to the X-ray cone.

Introduction: Many studies have confirmed that parental involvement can affect students' academic performance, but few focus on the influence of parental involvement on students' math performance by using meta-analysis. This meta-analysis investigates the influence of parental involvement on students' math performance, along with their moderators.
Methods: Through searching Google Scholar, ERIC, EBSCO, Web of Science and ProQuest databases, a total of 25 empirical studies between 2015 to 2024 were published and 42 independent effect sizes were included.
Phospholipase A2 receptor 1 (PLA2R1) exists important role in membranous nephropathy. In this study, we evaluate a PLA2R1 in a middle-aged rat model of renal function repair to further investigate the molecular mechanisms of membranous nephropathy. We analyzed the PLA2R1 knockout (KO) model and PLA2R1 knock in (KI) model in rats, extending the time to 85 weeks of age.

Cosmeceuticals, focusing on enhancing skin health and appearance, heavily rely on emulsions as one of the common mediums. These emulsions pose a challenge due to their dependence on surfactants which are essential for stability but are causing concerns about environmental impact as well as evolving consumer preferences. This has led to research focused on Pickering emulsions (PEs), which are colloidal particle-based emulsion alternatives.

The Covid 19 pandemic has significantly affected the health, economy, and social impact of humanity. The continuous mutations of the virus variants have accelerated the demand for scientific research on disinfection techniques for a safer indoor environment. Among all the available surface disinfection techniques, ultraviolet germicidal irradiance at 254 nm wavelength has been proven for its disinfection efficacy; however, its usage is limited to unoccupied conditions due to the risk of ultraviolet exposure.

With the development of deep learning technology, convolutional neural networks have made great progress in the field of image segmentation. However, for complex scenes and multi-scale target images, the existing technologies are still unable to achieve effective image segmentation. In view of this, an image segmentation model based on residual connection and feature fusion is proposed.

Background: Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic debilitating autoimmune disorder. Blood biomarkers, like rheumatoid factor (RF) and anti-citrullinated protein antibodies (ACPAs), lack the sensitivity and specificity for early diagnosis, delaying treatment. This review while highlighting the need for new diagnostic tools, emphasizes the promising avenue of saliva for developing RA biomarkers.

Acute mesenteric ischaemia (AMI) is a life-threatening gastrointestinal complication uncommonly described in premature infants. The diagnosis of AMI is challenging and may be delayed due to the limitation of accurate diagnostic imaging and non-specific clinical signs. Furthermore, AMI can be misdiagnosed as necrotising enterocolitis (NEC) due to the overlapping clinical and radiological features.

Assessing and cultivating students' HOTS are crucial for interior design education in a blended learning environment. However, current research has focused primarily on the impact of blended learning instructional strategies, learning tasks, and activities on the development of HOTS, whereas few studies have specifically addressed the assessment of these skills through dedicated scales in the context of blended learning. This study aimed to develop a comprehensive scale for assessing HOTS in interior design major students within the context of blended learning.

Background: New severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) variants and waning vaccine efficacy led to the administration of booster doses. Healthcare workers (HCWs) are vulnerable to contract the infection, and vaccination hesitancy in this group may have an impact on vaccine uptake among the general public.
Aims: This study aimed to (1) assess the prevalence of self-reported adverse effects (AEs) after the first booster dose vaccine, (2) evaluate the AEs between the homologous and heterologous booster vaccines, and (3) evaluate the willingness to receive a hypothetical yearly booster dose.

Neonatal adrenal haemorrhage (NAH) is more frequently described in neonates due to their relatively larger size and increased vascularity. While most are asymptomatic, they can present with anaemia, jaundice, abdominal mass, scrotal haematoma or more severe complications such as shock and adrenal insufficiency. Scrotal haematoma seen with NAH may be mistaken for other more serious conditions causing acute scrotum.

Bimetallic nanoparticles (BMNPs) have gained considerable attention due to their remarkable catalytic properties, making them invaluable in wastewater treatment applications. One of these challenges lies in the propensity of BMNPs to aggregate due to Van der Waals interactions, which can reduce their overall performance. Additionally, retrieving exhausted NPs from the treated solution for subsequent reuse remains a significant hurdle.
