Aim: To evaluate the effect of applying a matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) inhibitor on the fracture resistance of root-filled teeth restored with Everstick fiber-reinforced composite resin.

Subjects And Methods: After the selection of 60 freshly extracted human mandibular first molar, root canal access and standard uniformly sized mesio-occluso-distal (MOD) cavities were made and the teeth were randomly assigned into three groups ( = 20 each): Group I, the MOD cavity was first lined with flowable composite resin and then restored with composite resin. In Group II, Everstick fiber was placed into the bed of flowable composite in buccal-pulpal-lingual direction before the composite restoration was placed.

Analysing the tissue expression of p53 and p63 in odontogenic lesions may provide us with an insight into their potential role in the development of these lesions.

Efficacy of lidocaine vs combination of lidocaine and bupivacaine in management of maxillofacial trauma: a clinical comparative study.

Background: The COVID-19 pandemic has created an unprecedented situation which the treatment of maxillofacial trauma, especially mandibular fractures that were previously managed using general anaesthesia had to be performed under local anaesthesia. In these cases, there was a requirement for an anaesthetic agent that would have a rapid onset but also provide a prolonged effect. The aim of the study was to evaluate the onset, duration, depth, required volume of anaesthesia of lidocaine with epinephrine versus combination of lidocaine and bupivacaine with epinephrine anaesthetic agents in surgical management of isolated mandibular fracture patients.

Quantitative analysis of lncRNA in formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissues of oral squamous cell carcinoma.

The study evaluated expression profiles of few regulatory lncRNAs in oral squamous cell carcinoma and normal mucosa adjacent to oral cancer using paired fresh frozen and formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissues stored at a different duration of time (1-5 years) using real-time quantitative PCR. The quantity and quality of total RNA isolated from FFPE tissues was less compared with that of fresh frozen tissues, which resulted in a noncorrelation of quantification cycle values. Following normalization, the expression of lncRNAs in the paired tissues did not differ significantly.

A comparison of the quadhelix and the nickel-titanium palatal expander in the treatment of narrow maxillary arches: A prospective clinical study.

Objectives: The study aimed to compare the effects of quadhelix and nickel-titanium (NiTi) expander appliances on lower facial height, to quantify, and evaluate dentoalveolar and orthopedic changes in transverse plane, respectively, to estimate the difference in changes between these two appliances.

Materials And Methods: Twenty patients, ten for the quadhelix and NiTi expander in the two-appliance group, respectively, participated in this study. A total of 8 readings, 1 for clinical facial height, 2 for model analysis, and 5 for posteroanterior cephalometric analysis were recorded.

Excision of Traumatic Fibroma of the Tongue in a Pediatric Patient: A Case Report.

Unlabelled: Traumatic fibroma is a benign reactive exophytic oral lesion in response to local trauma in the oral cavity. The article presents the case of an 11-year-old boy patient with a month-long proliferation on the left lateral margin of the tongue. Upon detailed history and clinical examination, it was determined that the sharp cusps of the mandibular posterior were the etiological component.
