Recently, flexible perovskite solar cells (FPSCs) fabricated using solution-processed printing techniques have garnered significant attention. However, challenges remain in achieving cost-effective, scalable manufacturing under ambient conditions and ensuring stable, efficient devices. This study focuses on fabricating printed FPSCs using the slot-die coating technique and examines the impact of SnO quantum dot (QD) and (6,6)-Phenyl C61 butyric acid methyl ester (PCBM) based electron transport layers (ETLs) on device performance and hysteresis.

To mitigate carbon dioxide (CO) emissions and advance carbon neutrality, the conversion of CO into value-added fuels and chemicals via the reverse water-gas shift (RWGS) reaction is recognized as a promising approach. In this study, we designed platinum (Pt)-loaded nitrogen-doped carbon composite dual-phase titanium dioxide (TiO) nanomaterials to achieve efficient photo-thermal performance in the RWGS reaction. The incorporation of Pt, nitrogen doping, and the selection of an appropriate calcination temperature enhance light responsiveness and reduce the recombination of photo-generated carriers, thereby improving the efficiency of the photo-thermal RWGS reaction.

White adipose tissue (WAT) and the gut are involved in the development of neuroinflammation when an organism detects any kind of injury, thereby triggering metainflammation. In fact, the autonomous nervous system innervates both tissues, although the complex role played by the integrated sympathetic, parasympathetic, and enteric nervous system functions have not been fully elucidated. Our aims were to investigate the participation of inflamed WAT and the gut in neuroinflammation.

In previous research, we created a model with homozygous mutations in calreticulin similar to those found in patients with essential thrombocythemia (ET) and primary myelofibrosis (PMF), two myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs). This model, lacking JAK orthologs, enabled us to examine the transcriptomic effects caused by mutant calreticulin without the influence of JAK/STAT activation, the primary pathogenic mechanism associated with calreticulin mutations known to date. Most of the gene expression changes observed seemed to be due to a partial loss of protein function, with the alteration of the extracellular matrix being particularly notable.

Background: Malaria continues to be a critical public health concern in India, predominantly driven by complex interplays of ecological, climatic, and socioeconomic factors.
Methods: This study aimed to assess the association between climatic variables (temperature and precipitation) and malaria incidence across India from 2010 to 2019, utilizing data from the Global Historical Weather and Climate Data for climate metrics and the Global Burden of Disease Study for malaria incidence rates. Generalized Linear Mixed Models (GLMMs) with a Poisson distribution were employed to analyze the data, adjusting for socio-economic status, as indexed by the Human Development Index (HDI).

Plant-derived carbon dots (P-CDs) are gaining attention in environmental remediation due to their cost-effectiveness, availability, and lower toxicity compared with chemically synthesized carbon dots. This review comprehensively examines the recent advancements in the synthesis and application of P-CDs, with a particular emphasis on their efficacy in the sensing of heavy metals, which are among the most pervasive environmental contaminants. A detailed comparative analysis is presented by evaluating the performance of P-CDs against their chemically synthesized counterparts based on key parameters, such as optimal operating conditions and detection limits.

Analyzing the composition of animal hair fibers in textiles is crucial for ensuring the quality of yarns and fabrics made from animal hair. Among others, Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy is a technique that identifies vibrations associated with chemical bonds, including those found in amino acid groups. Cashmere, mohair, yak, camel, alpaca, vicuña, llama, and sheep hair fibers were analyzed via attenuated total reflection FT-IR (ATR FT-IR) spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy techniques aiming at the discrimination among them to identify possible commercial frauds.

The hydrogen (H) energy industry has continued to expand in recent years due to the decarbonization of the global energy system and the drive towards sustainable development. Due to hydrogen's high flammability and significant safety risks, the efficient detection of hydrogen has become an increasingly hot issue today. In this work, a new type of relatively fast and responsive conducting polymer sensor has been demonstrated for tracing H gas in a nitrogen environment.

Pressure ulcers (PUs) are caused by continuous pressure or friction on the skin that damages tissue, especially over bony prominences. A critical factor in the development and progression of PUs is poor nutritional status, which often involves deficiencies in essential nutrients such as proteins, vitamins (A, C, D, E, K, and the B complex), and trace elements (including zinc, selenium, copper, iron, and manganese). These micronutrients are vital for effective wound healing, as they play significant roles in cellular repair, immune function, and tissue regeneration.

Background: Sulfonamide derivatives are well-reported hCA IX inhibitors; however, they inhibit all types of hCA without any selectivity, leading to severe adverse effects. Hence, developing a novel nonsulfonamide class of tumor-associated hCA IX inhibitors through non-classical inhibition may provide greater selectivity and better pharmacokinetics.
Objective: The objective of this study was to develop non-sulfonamide derivatives as potential human carbonic anhydrase (hCA) inhibitors and develop a new series of chromene-linked bis-indole derivatives.

Cereblon (CRBN), a member of the E3 ubiquitin ligase complex, has gained significant attention as a therapeutic target in cancer. CRBN regulates the degradation of various proteins in cancer progression, including transcription factors and signaling molecules. PROTACs (proteolysis-targeting chimeras) are a novel approach that uses the cell's degradation system to remove disease-causing proteins selectively.

Obesity, a prevalent global health concern, is characterized by excessive fat accumulation, which confers significant nutritional and health risks, including a shortened lifespan and diminished wellbeing. Central to the regulation of energy balance and food intake is the fat mass and obesity-associated (FTO) protein, which modulates the interplay between caloric consumption and energy expenditure. Given its pivotal role in obesity regulation, the identification of effective inhibitors targeting the FTO protein is imperative for developing therapeutic interventions.

In recent years, genistein has garnered increased interest for its ability to inhibit numerous deregulated targets associated with cancer progression and induction of programmed cell death and antiproliferative activities in human carcinoma cells. Cancer etiology is influenced via multiple disrupted signaling pathways. This study therefore directed toward investigating genistein efficacy in modulating mRNA expression levels of two crucial Human Pappiloma Virus (HPV) (E7 and E6) oncogenes for cancer treatment.
