Bacterial infections in wounds significantly impair the healing process. The use of natural antibacterial products over synthetic antibiotics has emerged as a new trend to address antimicrobial resistance. An ideal tissue engineering scaffold to treat infected wounds should possess antibacterial properties, while simultaneously promoting tissue regrowth.

Introduction: The management of acetabular fractures is a complicated orthopedic procedure that has been advancing with time. Newer radiological tools like CT scans help surgeons to identify and manage these fractures more attentively. The study was conducted to evaluate the clinical and radiographic outcomes in patients with acetabular fractures managed either conservatively or by open reduction and internal fixation.

The rapidly increasing burden of hypertension is responsible for premature deaths from cardiovascular disease (CVD), renal disease, and stroke, with a tremendous public health and financial burden. Hypertension detection, treatment, and control vary worldwide; it is still low, particularly in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). High blood pressure (BP) and CVD risk have a strong, linear, and independent association.

Background: Sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 inhibitors (SGLT2i) have been used for almost a decade and have proven to be effective not only in managing Type 2 diabetes (T2D), but their cardio and renal protective features make them very useful in managing patients with risk of multiple comorbidities. This systematic review was undertaken by the authors because there is no evidence currently available in India that has studied the suitability of SGLT2i as a first-line agent in patients newly diagnosed with T2D in India.
Materials And Methods: First, literature was searched to identify features that are considered important when deciding on a first-line agent for managing T2D.

Introduction: Reducing the healing period after surgical placement of dental implants can facilitate the loading of dental prostheses.
Aim: The aim is to compare the osteogenic potential of unmodified titanium disks with titanium disks that were surface-modified or hydrogel-coated.
Materials And Methodology: One hundred eight titanium disks (Ø6 × 2-mm) were divided into three groups: (1) unmodified titanium as control (Ti-C); (2) sandblasted and acid-etched (Ti-SLA), and (3) coated with tamarind kernel polysaccharide hydrogel grafted with acrylic acid (Ti-TKP-AA).

Subcutaneous white adipose tissue (scWAT) is a dynamic storage and secretory organ that regulates systemic homeostasis, yet the impact of endurance exercise training (ExT) and sex on its molecular landscape is not fully established. Utilizing an integrative multi-omics approach, and leveraging data generated by the Molecular Transducers of Physical Activity Consortium (MoTrPAC), we show profound sexual dimorphism in the scWAT of sedentary rats and in the dynamic response of this tissue to ExT. Specifically, the scWAT of sedentary females displays -omic signatures related to insulin signaling and adipogenesis, whereas the scWAT of sedentary males is enriched in terms related to aerobic metabolism.

The emergence and global spread of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) pose a serious threat to public health, underscoring the urgent need for novel antibacterial interventions. Here, we screened 18 newly synthesized N,N'-diarylurea derivatives to identify compounds with activity against MRSA. Our investigations led to the discovery of a small molecule, SCB-24, which exhibited promising antimicrobial activity against MRSA USA300.

Background and objective Basal cell carcinoma (BCC) is the most common malignancy of the skin. Reconstruction of post-excisional defects in BCC should follow the subunit principle for better outcomes. The location of BCC of the face is determined based on facial units; however, very few studies have described the involvement of multiple units and multiple subunits in BCC.

This study uses aerosol optical depth (AOD) and cloud properties data to investigate the influence of aerosol on the cloud properties over the Tibetan Plateau and its adjacent regions. The study regions are divided as the western part of the Tibetan Plateau (WTP), the Indo-Gangetic Plain (IGP), and the Sichuan Basin (SCB). All three regions show significant cloud effects under low aerosol loading conditions.

Objectives: To evaluate the loss of crestal bone height around dental implants placed in various tissue biotypes.
Materials And Methods: 20 patients with single edentulous sites were allocated randomly, with 10 samples in each into Group I (implants were placed in thick tissue biotype) and Group II (implants were placed in thin tissue biotype). Baseline cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) was performed after implant placement in both groups, and follow-up CBCT was taken at the time of cementation prior to occlusal loading to assess the crestal bone loss around the mesial and distal side of implants in both groups.

Background: The burden of hepatitis C virus (HCV) in India is alarming, with a major share of this virus being witnessed in patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD). A pan-genotypic combination of sofosbuvir and velpatasvir is found to be safe, effective, and economical in resource-constraint countries such as ours. However, there are scanty data on the efficacy and safety of sofosbuvir and velpatasvir combination in patients with ESRD.

Objective: The objective of the study was to conduct a comparative analysis of various intraoperative parameters and postoperative outcomes between the laparoscopic extravesical repair versus the laparoscopic O'Connor repair techniques in management of supratrigonal vesicovaginal fistula.
Methods: A prospective nonrandomized study was conducted from January 2018 to January 2023, in which 36 patients who met inclusion criteria like primary or recurrent, single, simple, supratrigonal vesicovaginal fistula were included. Among these patients 18 patients were operated with laparoscopic O'Connor repair, while 18 were operated with laparoscopic transperitoneal extravesical vesicovaginal fistula repair.
