Out of 24 PNP candidates, the top-performing PNP/C12-PBAE nanoparticles efficiently deliver both DNA and mRNA in vitro and in vivo, presenting enhanced transfection efficacy, sustained gene release behavior, and excellent stability for at least 12 months of storage at -20 °C after lyophilization without loss of transfection efficacy.

Objectives: The objective was to bridge the relative educational gap for newly matched emergency medicine preinterns between Match Day and the start of internship by implementing an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education Milestone (ACGME)-based virtual case curriculum over the social media platform Slack.

Methods: We designed a Milestone-based curriculum of 10 emergency department clinical cases and used Slack to implement it. An instructor was appointed for each participating institution to lead the discussion and encourage collaboration among preinterns.

We aspire to treat everyone equitably and make decisions at the bedside that are not based on age, race, socioeconomic status, gender, sexual orientation, religion, language, or any other category. In many settings, there is a stark contrast between the diversity of our patient populations and that of the physicians caring for them.

Background There are limited contemporary data prevalence and outcomes of acute ischemic stroke (AIS) complicating acute myocardial infarction (AMI). Methods and Results Adult (>18 years) AMI admissions using the National Inpatient Sample database (2000-2017) were evaluated for in-hospital AIS. Outcomes of interest included in-hospital mortality, hospitalization costs, length of stay, discharge disposition, and use of tracheostomy and percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy.

Administration of Denosumab Preserves Bone Mineral Density at the Knee in Persons With Subacute Spinal Cord Injury: Findings From a Randomized Clinical Trial.

Twenty-six SCI participants with subacute motor-complete SCI were randomized to receive either denosumab (60 mg) or placebo at baseline (BL), 6, and 12 months.

The role of hospital ethics committees in emergency medicine practice.

Emergency physicians face real-time ethical dilemmas that may occur at any hour of the day or night. Hospital ethics committees and ethics consultation services are not always able to provide immediate responses to emergency physicians' consultation requests. When faced with an emergent dilemma, emergency physicians sometimes rely on risk management or hospital counsel to answer legal questions, but may be better served by real-time ethics consultation.
