Objectives: While it is known that surgical costs continue to rise in the United States, there is little information about the specific underlying factors for this variation in many common procedures. This study investigates the influence of geographic location and hospital demographics on hospital cost and postoperative outcomes in adult patients undergoing total thyroidectomy (TT).
Methods: The National Inpatient Sample was queried for patients who underwent primary TT between 2016 and 2017.
Purpose: Chat Generative Pre-Trained Transformer (ChatGPT) may have implications as a novel educational resource. There are differences in opinion on the best resource for the Orthopaedic In-Training Exam (OITE) as information changes from year to year. This study assesses ChatGPT's performance on the OITE for use as a potential study resource for residents.

Multiple widely accepted ABR protocols with varying parameters are accepted, difference in standards may lead to misdiagnosis or delay in diagnosis and treatment. This study investigates the quality of ABR testing in pediatric patients in addition to changes in diagnoses and management.

Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), which encompasses ulcerative colitis (UC) and Crohn's disease (CD), is a chronic inflammatory condition of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract that presents complex diagnostic and management challenges. Early detection and treatment of IBD is paramount, as IBD can present with serious complications, including bowel perforation, arthritis, and colorectal cancer. Most forms of diagnosis and therapeutic management, like ileocolonoscopy and upper endoscopy are highly invasive and require extensive preparation at great discomfort to patients.

Objective: Surgical resection is associated with higher overall survival (OS) than definitive radiotherapy (RT) or chemoradiotherapy (CRT) in cT4b sinonasal squamous cell carcinoma (SCC). Our study investigates the survival benefit of surgical resection in cT4b sinonasal non-SCC.
Methods: The 2004 to 2019 National Cancer Database was queried for patients with cT4b sinonasal non-SCC undergoing definitive treatment with (1) surgical resection + additional therapy (RT, chemotherapy, or both), (2) RT alone, or (3) CRT.
Objective: Retrograde cricopharyngeal dysfunction (R-CPD) is a syndrome with rapidly increasing awareness since being first described in March 2019. As such, few cases of R-CPD are currently reported in the literature. The goal of this study is to provide a comprehensive systematic review of the available literature on R-CPD, including patient characteristics, diagnosis, and management.
