Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the third most common cancer among men and women combined, and the second leading cause of cancer death in the US. The revised USPSTF CRC screening recommendations increased CRC screening needs across health systems, which may create particular challenges for community health centers (CHCs) given their resource constraints. • People with psychosis show distinct patterns of brain connectivity, indicating hyperconnectivity in thalamus-to-cortex pathways and reduced connections within sensory networks, but it’s unclear if this applies universally across all sensory networks.
  • In a study involving 54 healthy individuals and 105 psychosis patients, researchers identified specific connectivity patterns in somatomotor and secondary visual networks that could serve as a reliable biomarker for psychosis, regardless of other clinical factors.
  • This emerging "somato-visual" biomarker demonstrated strong discrimination between psychosis patients and controls, reliable test results, and the ability to differentiate between various stages of the illness, potentially aiding early diagnosis and intervention.
