Antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA)-associated vasculitis is an autoimmune inflammatory disease that usually affects the small-sized vasculature, most notably of the lungs and kidneys. One of the challenges of suspecting and diagnosing the condition lies in the insidious and unclear symptoms of presentation. In this case report, we discuss the case of a patient who initially presented with solely unclear pulmonary symptoms, without other organ system dysfunction.

Despite the lack of direct evidence that hypertension increases the likelihood of new infections, hypertension is known to be the most common comorbid condition in COVID-19 patients and also a major risk factor for severe COVID-19 infection. The literature review suggests that data is heterogeneous in terms of the association of hypertension with mortality. Hence, it remains a topic of interest whether hypertension is associated with COVID-19 disease severity and mortality.

Acute asthma exacerbations can be severe and life-threatening. In some cases, standard interventions and management do not result in reversal of bronchoconstriction. It is crucial to detect patients with impending respiratory failure and escalate management to invasive mechanical ventilatory support and, in refractory cases, interventions like extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO).

It acts as a sympathomimetic and increases the amount of catecholamines, thereby increasing the risk of ventricular irritability and resultant arrhythmias. Its sodium (Na) channel blockage is the principal mechanism behind the Brugada pattern on an electrocardiogram (ECG), which is often transient but is indistinguishable from that of Brugada syndrome, the autosomal dominant channelopathy.

Unlabelled: Aortic dissection is a relatively uncommon, although catastrophic, disease which requires early and accurate diagnosis and treatment for patient survival. Aortic dissection can be difficult to diagnose due to the diverse symptom presentation, which can lead to later diagnosis, resulting in a higher mortality rate. Here we present a case of type A aortic dissection with a varied symptom presentation, highlighting the importance of early detection and the Bentall procedure for management of such cases.

Felty syndrome (FS), an uncommon manifestation seen in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA), usually presents as a triad of erosive arthritis, splenomegaly, and neutropenia. It is extremely rare for RA to present as FS or develop after initially presenting as neutropenia and splenomegaly. In this report, we describe a case of a 55-year-old woman who initially presented with fever and vaginal pain.
