Background: Dental caries is considered as one of the most serious dental diseases that results in localized dissolution and destruction of the calcified tooth tissues. As possible alternatives to conventional techniques of caries removal, chemomechanical caries removal systems have emerged. This study aims to clinically observe the advantages of chemomechanical method of caries removal over conventional technique.

Evaluation of glutathione peroxidase in the blood and tumor tissue of oral squamous cell carcinoma patients.

Aims And Objectives: The lowered antioxidant capacity and the oxidant-antioxidant imbalance have been considered to play a role in multistage carcinogenesis. The deleterious effects produced by reactive oxygen species depend on the imbalance between oxidant and antioxidant status in the body, so this study is aimed to evaluate the levels of antioxidant enzyme, glutathione peroxidase (GPx), in the blood and tumor tissues of oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) patients in comparison with healthy controls.

Materials And Methods: The study comprised of 38 participants divided into two groups.

Catheterization of post infection parotid duct sialocele with paediatric Ryles tube: A case report.

Sialocele is a cavity filled with saliva, usually as a result of trauma, complication of surgery, sialolithiasis or bacterial infection residing inside the duct. Many cases of parotid sialocele have been reported in the literature, but only very few cases of parotid duct sialocele have been reported. We report a case of an unusual facial swelling over buccal mucosa at the route of Stenson's duct with poor oral hygiene, a case of parotid duct sialocele with secondary infection and describe its diagnosis and management.

Oral submucous fibrosis: A clinico-histopathological correlational study.

Aim Of The Study: The aim of this study was to correlate the clinical staging (clinical severity) with the histopathological staging (histopathological changes) of oral submucous fibrosis (OSF) patients, which would further assist the clinicians to formulate a definite treatment plan.

Aim: The purpose of the present study was direct linear measurement of dentin thickness and dentin volume changes for post space preparation with cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT).

Materials And Methods: Ten maxillary central incisors were scanned, before and after root canal and post space preparation, with Orthophos XG three-dimensional hybrid unit. Thirteen axial section scans of each tooth from orifice to apex and dentin thickness for buccal, lingual, mesial, and distal were measured using proprietary measuring tool and thereafter subjected to statistical analysis.

The service in cardiac catheterization laboratories (CCL) in developed countries and some of the developing countries is mainly provided by the cardiac anesthesiologists. The scenario is not same in some part of developing countries or in underdeveloped countries which are mainly due to increase in number of CCL (catheterization laboratory) when compared to the number of cardiac anesthesiologists working outside the operation theater.

Background: Dental stem cell, a type of adult stem cell, exhibits multipotent differentiation capacity and is drawing worldwide attention because of its numerous applications. Angular cheilitis: A clinical and microbial study.

Aims: The aim of the present study was to examine clinical types and microbiological flora isolated from angular chelitis.

Materials And Methods: An eroded and/or erythematous, with or without fissure formation, nonvesicular lesion radiating from the angle of the mouth was considered to be angular chelitis. A sample of the present study comprised of 40 patients having unilateral or bilateral angular chelitis and 20 healthy individuals without any lip lesions.

Here, we report a case of an extensive salivary gland pathology involving the right side of face, possibly arising from the parotid gland in a 25-year-old male patient.
