Background: Music can directly influence emotions, the regulation of which are known to be impaired in major depressive disorder (MDD). While music therapy (MT) could be an effective complement to treat MDD, studies investigating such effects have not yet yielded conclusive results. We hypothesized that group music therapy (GMT) might lead to a significant reduction of depressive symptoms (DS).

Utilizing the sparsity of the electronic structure problem, fragmentation methods have been researched for decades with great success, pushing the limits of ab initio quantum chemistry ever further. Recently, this set of methods has been expanded to include a fundamentally different approach called excitonic renormalization, providing promising initial results. It builds a supersystem Hamiltonian in a second-quantized-like representation from transition-density tensors of isolated fragments, contracted with biorthogonalized molecular integrals.

: The elbow joint is stabilized by complex interactions between bony structures and soft tissues, notably the lateral and medial collateral ligaments. Posterolateral rotatory instability (PLRI), a form of elbow instability, is challenging to diagnose due to overlapping symptoms with other conditions. The radiocapitellar line (RCL) is a radiographic tool for assessing humeroradial alignment and elbow stability, but its diagnostic accuracy remains debated.

Background: Arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) account for <3% of vascular anomalies. This study aims to present the 10-year experience of a German vascular anomaly center (VAC) with AVMs and evaluate diagnostic imaging for treatment-relevant information for minimally invasive therapy planning.
Material And Methods: A retrospective study including patients from the VAC database with AVMs was conducted.
Background: Liberal or overtransfusion (OT) may be regarded as "inappropriate," but it is not reported as a transfusion-related adverse event. A definition of OT is lacking. OT may include overdosing of components, giving the incorrect component, or unnecessary administration without evidence of need for transfusion.

Objective: Ampullary neoplastic lesions can be resected by endoscopic papillectomy (EP) or transduodenal surgical ampullectomy (TSA) while pancreaticoduodenectomy is reserved for more advanced lesions. We present the largest retrospective comparative study analysing EP and TSA.
Design: Of all patients in the database, lesions with prior interventions, benign histology advanced malignancy (T2 and more), patients with hereditary syndromes and those undergoing pancreatoduodenectomy were excluded.

Importance: Venous thromboembolism (VTE) is a severe complication after microsurgical free tissue transfer (FTT) to the head and neck. Hypothermia during surgery is a modifiable risk factor, and avoiding it may reduce the postoperative VTE rate.
Objective: To assess the association between hypothermia (temperature <36 °C) and postoperative VTE and free flap pedicle thrombosis rates after head and neck reconstruction with FTT.

Background: The World Health Organization certified China malaria-free in 2021. Consequently, preventing the risk of malaria re-introduction caused by imported malaria has now become a major challenge. This study aims to characterize the dynamics and predict the risk of malaria importation in Jiangsu Province, where the number of imported malaria cases ranks among the highest in China.

Background: Nanocarriers have been proposed as a solution for drug-resistant epilepsy.
Methods: A systematic review of animal and in vitro studies was conducted to evaluate the efficacy, toxicity, and biological properties of nanocarriers. Searches were performed in PubMed/Medline and Scopus from March 2023 to March 2024.

Aims: Sebaceous neoplasms constitute a group of adnexal tumours, including sebaceous adenoma, sebaceoma and sebaceous carcinoma. Although mismatch repair deficiency may be observed, the nature of the genetic alterations contributing to the development of most of these tumours is still unknown. In the present study, we describe the clinical, microscopic, and molecular features of eight sebaceomas with GRHL gene rearrangement.

Cutaneous T-cell lymphomas (CTCLs) are a heterogeneous group of diseases characterised by abnormal neoplastic T-cell growth in the skin. Mycosis fungoides (MF), the most common CTCL, manifests as erythematous skin patches and/or plaques, tumours or erythroderma. The disease may involve blood, lymph nodes and rarely viscera.

Objectives: The objective of this study is to examine the association between relationship satisfaction and blood pressure (BP) in a low-income setting and to screen for gender moderation in this context. Research conducted in high-income settings suggests that relationship satisfaction is associated with better physical and mental health outcomes.
Design: A cross-sectional study design was employed, using both questionnaire and physical measurement data.

Background And Objective: Data on interaction of patients with artificial intelligence (AI) are limited, primarily derived from small-scale studies, cross-sectional surveys, and qualitative reviews. Most patients have not yet encountered AI in their clinical experience. This study explored patients' confidence in AI, specifically large language models, after a direct interaction with a chatbot in a clinical setting.

This study explores carbon dioxide enrichment in anaerobic digestion to boost biomethane production and assess degradation kinetics and methanogenic pathway evolution. Carbon dioxide enrichment was found to improve inoculum digestion, supplying additional energy for methanogenic archaea. The methane yield of blank inocula increased by 53 % to 77 % after carbon dioxide enrichment.

Background: Many palliative cancer patients require inpatient hospital treatment for medical reasons, which contrasts their frequent desire to be at home. Virtual reality (VR) could be a way of bringing the home environment closer to them. First observations have shown benefits from VR for inpatients in palliative care.

Background: Cancer patients benefit from Virtual Reality (VR) in burdensome situations, but evidence is scarce for palliative situations. Based on earlier work in palliative care, individualized VR interventions like seeing the patient's home may address a patient's wish to be at home and thus have a greater effect compared to standard VR content. Yet, some patients and relatives may be concerned about their privacy.

Background: Pre-operative computer-aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM) revolutionized head and neck reconstruction after extirpative surgery. However, studies performing head-to-head comparison to the conventional technique have limited long-term follow-up. We aimed to compare short and long-term outcomes between conventional and CAD/CAM approaches for mandibular reconstruction with free fibula flaps.

The addition of dispersion corrections to density functionals is essential for accurate energy and geometry predictions. Among them, the D4 scheme is popular due to its low computational cost and high accuracy. However, due to its design, the D4 correction can occasionally lead to anomalies, such as unphysical curvature and bumps in the potential energy surface.
