Background: Lung cancer, particularly non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), has high recurrence rates and remains a leading cause of cancer-related death, despite recent advances in its treatment. Emerging therapies, such as chimeric antigen receptor (CAR)-T cell therapy, have shown promise but face significant challenges in targeting solid tumors. This study investigated the potential of combining receptor tyrosine kinase-like orphan receptor 1 (ROR1)-targeting CAR-T cells with ferroptosis inducers to promote ferroptosis of tumor cells and enhance anti-tumor efficacy.

Objective: This study compared the value of different systemic immune-inflammatory markers for evaluating coronary collateralization (CC) in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and chronic total occlusion (CTO).
Methods: Systemic immune-inflammation index (SII), systemic inflammation response index (SIRI) and pan-immune-inflammation value (PIV) were calculated at admission in 1409 T2DM patients with CTO. The degree of coronary collaterals was estimated using the Rentrop scoring system and categorized into poor (Rentrop score 0 or 1) or good (Rentrop score 2 or 3) CC.

Low-intensity transcranial ultrasound stimulation (TUS) is a noninvasive technique that safely alters neural activity, reaching deep brain areas with good spatial accuracy. We investigated the effects of TUS in macaques using a recent metric, the synergy minus redundancy rank gradient, which quantifies different kinds of neural information processing. We analyzed this high-order quantity on the fMRI data after TUS in two targets: the supplementary motor area (SMA-TUS) and the frontal polar cortex (FPC-TUS).

Backgrounds: Due to the high mortality and hospitalization rate in chronic heart failure (HF), it is of great significance to study myocardial nutrition conditions. Amino acids (AAs) are essential nutrient metabolites for cell development and survival. This study aims to investigate the associations and prognostic value of plasma branched-chain amino acid/aromatic amino acid ratio (Fischer's ratio, FR) in patients with left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) ≤ 50%.

Newly diagnosed follicular lymphoma (FL) patients usually received first-line rituximab-based immunochemotherapy (R-chemo). Recently, rituximab plus lenalidomide (R2) emerged as an alternative chemo-free immunotherapy. We performed a comparative analysis of positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) in FL undergoing R-chemo or R2.

Introduction: Immunogenic cell death (ICD) is capable of activating the anti-tumor immune response of the organism; however, it is concurrently a complex process involving multiple factors. The specific factors that impact the occurrence of ICD remain undefined.
Methods: Through cluster analysis, patient specimens retrieved from the TARGET, TCGA, and GEO AML databases were categorized into two subtypes based on the expression levels of ICD-related genes: ICD-high and ICD-low.

Introduction: This study aimed to elucidate the role and molecular mechanisms of acidic leucine-rich nuclear phosphoprotein 32 kDa B (Anp32b) deficiency in ocular development.
Methods: We used constitutive C57BL/6-derived Anp32b-/- mice to elucidate the role of Anp32b in ocular development, including the phenotype and proportion of eye malformation in different genotypes. RNA-seq analysis and rescue experiments were performed to investigate the underlying mechanisms of Anp32b.

The continuous generation of multi-omics and phenotype data is propelling advancements in precision oncology. UCSCXenaShiny was developed as an interactive tool for exploring thousands of cancer datasets available on UCSC Xena. However, its capacity for comprehensive and personalized pan-cancer data analysis is being challenged by the growing demands.

Background: Understanding the role of cytokines in tooth development is critical for advancing dental tissue engineering. Fibroblast growth factor 9 (FGF9) is the only FGF consistently expressed throughout dental epithelial tissue, from the initiation of tooth bud formation to tooth maturation. However, mice lacking Fgf9 (Fgf9) surprisingly show no obvious abnormalities in tooth development, suggesting potential compensation by other FGFs.

The dysregulation of alternative splicing (AS) is increasingly recognized as a pivotal player in the pathogenesis, progression, and treatment resistance of B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL). Despite its significance, the clinical implications of AS events in B-ALL remain largely unexplored. This study developed a prognostic model based on 18 AS events (18-AS), derived from a meticulous integration of bioinformatics methodologies and advanced machine learning algorithms.

Ischemia and hypoxia activate astrocytes into reactive types A1 and A2, which play roles in damage and protection, respectively. However, the function and mechanism of A1 and A2 astrocyte exosomes are unknown. After astrocyte exosomes were injected into the lateral ventricle, infarct volume, damage to the blood-brain barrier (BBB), apoptosis and the expression of microglia-related proteins were measured.

Background: Seed amplification assays (SAA) enable the amplification of pathological misfolded proteins, including α-synuclein (αSyn), in both tissue homogenates and body fluids of Parkinson's disease (PD) patients. SAA involves repeated cycles of shaking or sonication coupled with incubation periods. However, this amplification scheme has limitations in tracking protein propagation due to repeated fragmentation.
