The COVID-19 crisis has severely impacted the wine industry, with producers in different countries affected differently and, therefore, differing in their perceptions toward it. These differing perceptions are assumed to be due to different business models, mainly linked to the distribution system adopted and resulting in varying distances of producers to distributors and consumers. While upstream integration characterizes the Old World, the New World applies a downstream business model, being more closely linked to distributors and consumers and, therefore, more vulnerable to shocks, which should lead to higher perceived impacts of the COVID-19 crisis.

In this work, we employ differential electrochemical mass spectrometry (DEMS) to track the real-time evolution of CO at nanoporous gold (NpAu) catalysts with varying pore parameters (diameter and length) during the electrochemical CO reduction reaction (CORR). We show that due to the increase in the local pH with increasing catalyst roughness, NpAu catalysts suppress the bicarbonate-mediated hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) compared to a flat Au electrode. Additionally, the geometric current density for CORR increases with the roughness of NpAu catalysts, which we attribute to the increased availability of active sites at NpAu catalysts.

Recently, the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) issued a tolerable daily intake (TDI) for erucic acid, which is mainly found in rapeseed oil. Infants may be exposed to erucic acid from rapeseed oil indirectly through maternal consumption via breastmilk or the fat component in formula, and directly as a part of complementary feeding (CF). To check the safety of infant nutrition, scenarios for erucic acid exposure were calculated based on the daily food amounts of the German dietary guidelines.
