Traditionally, patients with asymptomatic, advanced-stage follicular lymphoma were managed with a watchful-waiting approach until disease progression. The 'Watch and Wait' Phase-3 randomised international trial examined whether rituximab could delay the need for treatment and the effect on quality of life (QoL). In this article, we present the long-term results of the QoL aspect of the trial.

The duration of the PR intervals in atypical Wenckebach atrioventricular block before and after a non-conducted P wave can exhibit a wide range of values and patterns. Understanding the different or at times puzzling manifestations of Wenckebach atrioventricular block in terms of its PR intervals can avoid diagnostic errors, especially the erroneous more serious diagnosis of Mobitz type II atrioventricular block.

Background: Diagnostic imaging using CT enterography, magnetic resonance enterography, and intestinal ultrasound are important tools in evaluating stricturing Crohn's disease. Definitions of strictures have been developed for CT enterography and magnetic resonance enterography. However, expert recommendations for definitions and treatment response of strictures on intestinal ultrasound are not available.

Pretransplant detection of KMT2Ar measurable residual disease ≥0.001% by quantitative polymerase chain reaction was associated with significantly inferior posttransplant survival (2-year relapse-free survival 17% vs 59%; P = .001) and increased 2-year cumulative incidence of relapse (75% vs 25%, P = .

Background: Gastro-esophageal reflux (GORD) following sleeve gastrectomy (SG) is a central challenge, and precise indications for revisional surgery or the physiology have not been precisely defined. We aimed to determine whether OAGB performed for reflux post-SG (1) accelerates gastric emptying half-time, (2) reduces the frequency and severity of reflux events, and (3) improves reflux symptoms.
Methods: We undertook a prospective trial (ACTRN12616001089426).

Objectives: The Hypoglycemia During Hospitalization (HyDHo) score predicts hypoglycemia in a population of Canadian inpatients by assigning various weightings to 5 key clinical criteria known at the time of admission, in particular age, recent presentation to an emergency department, insulin use, use of oral hypoglycemic agents, and chronic kidney disease. Our aim in this study was to externally validate the HyDHo score by applying this risk calculator to an Australian population of inpatients with diabetes.
Methods: This study was a retrospective data analysis of a subset of the Diabetes IN-hospital: Glucose & Outcomes (DINGO) cohort.

Pathogenic loss-of-function variants in BGN, an X-linked gene encoding biglycan, are associated with Meester-Loeys syndrome (MRLS), a thoracic aortic aneurysm/dissection syndrome. Since the initial publication of five probands in 2017, we have considerably expanded our MRLS cohort to a total of 18 probands (16 males and 2 females). Segregation analyses identified 36 additional BGN variant-harboring family members (9 males and 27 females).

Background: Stricturing Crohn's disease (CD) occurs most commonly in the terminal ileum and poses a clinical problem. Cross-sectional imaging modalities such as intestinal ultrasound (IUS), computed tomography enterography (CTE), and magnetic resonance enterography (MRE) allow for assessment of the entire bowel wall and associated peri-enteric findings. Radiologic definitions of strictures have been developed for CTE and MRE; their reliability and responsiveness are being evaluated in index development programs.

Importance: Whether endovascular thrombectomy (EVT) efficacy for patients with acute ischemic stroke and large cores varies depending on the extent of ischemic injury is uncertain.
Objective: To describe the relationship between imaging estimates of irreversibly injured brain (core) and at-risk regions (mismatch) and clinical outcomes and EVT treatment effect.
Design, Setting, And Participants: An exploratory analysis of the SELECT2 trial, which randomized 352 adults (18-85 years) with acute ischemic stroke due to occlusion of the internal carotid or middle cerebral artery (M1 segment) and large ischemic core to EVT vs medical management (MM), across 31 global centers between October 2019 and September 2022.

Objectives: The glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist, liraglutide, reduces human prostate cancer incidence, and similar GLP-1 receptor agonists reduce proliferation and growth of prostate cancer cell lines. Primary human prostate cancer expresses the GLP-1 receptor (GLP-1R) . Cancer evolves with stage, and whether advanced-stage human prostate cancer expresses GLP-1R is unknown.

The fusion of narrow-QRS sinus-generated beats with end-diastolic ventricular extrasystoles occurring in bigeminy can produce an electrocardiographic pattern difficult to differentiate from parasystole. Such an ECG should not be interpreted as 2:1 RBBB because of the variability of the PR intervals.

Purpose: There are significant alterations in gastro-intestinal function, food tolerance, and symptoms following sleeve gastrectomy (SG). These substantially change over the first year, but it is unclear what the underlying physiological basis for these changes is. We examined changes in oesophageal transit and gastric emptying and how these correlate with changes in gastro-intestinal symptoms and food tolerance.
