Objective: This study aimed to assess the number of prescriptions that were uncollected by caregivers to identify any predisposing systemic themes that may act as barriers to children receiving medications.
Study Design And Setting: Data were retrospectively collected on uncollected prescriptions at a single, tertiary paediatric centre over a 2-month period. This included type and classification of the drug, prescriber specialty, the timing of prescription and the child's registered postcode.
Autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD) is an important cause of renal dysfunction. It is the most common genetic disorder leading to end-stage kidney disease requiring dialysis. ADPKD is a multisystem disease and is linked to several extra renal abnormalities.

Background: Device-assisted enteroscopy (DAE) has become a well-established diagnostic and therapeutic tool for the management of small-bowel pathology. We aimed to evaluate the performance measures for DAE across the UK against the quality benchmarks proposed by the European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ESGE).
Methods: We retrospectively collected data on patient demographics and DAE performance measures from electronic endoscopy records of consecutive patients who underwent DAE for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes across 12 enteroscopy centers in the UK between January 2017 and December 2022.

Aim: To review histologically confirmed diffuse idiopathic pulmonary neuroendocrine cell hyperplasia (DIPNECH) cases and carry out a detailed pathological-radiological correlation to see if computed tomography (CT) can be used to confidently identify DIPNECH.
Materials And Methods: Twenty-three histologically confirmed DIPNECH patients in the shared database of two NHS Trusts were reviewed. CT images were reviewed by two independent radiologists, each of them with >10 years of experience in thoracic imaging.

Aims: Programmed cell death ligand 1 (PD-L1) expression, used universally to predict response of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) to immune-modulating drugs, is a fragile biomarker due to biological heterogeneity and challenges in interpretation. The aim of this study was to assess current PD-L1 testing practices in the UK, which may help to define strategies to improve its reliability and consistency.
Methods: A questionnaire covering NSCLC PD-L1 testing practice was devised and members of the Association of Pulmonary Pathologists were invited to complete this online.

Context: Harmonisation of outcome reporting and definitions for clinical trials and routine patient records can enable health care systems to provide more efficient outcome-driven and patient-centred interventions. We report on the work of the PIONEER Consortium in this context for prostate cancer (PCa).
Objective: To update and integrate existing core outcome sets (COS) for PCa for the different stages of the disease, assess their applicability, and develop standardised definitions of prioritised outcomes.

Academic Urology Unit, University of Aberdeen, Aberdeen, UK; Department of Urology, Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, Aberdeen, UK.
Context: There is uncertainty regarding the most appropriate criteria for recruitment, monitoring, and reclassification in active surveillance (AS) protocols for localised prostate cancer (PCa).
Objective: To perform a qualitative systematic review (SR) to issue recommendations regarding inclusion of intermediate-risk disease, biopsy characteristics at inclusion and monitoring, and repeat biopsy strategy.
Evidence Acquisition: A protocol-driven, Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-analyses (PRISMA)-adhering SR incorporating AS protocols published from January 1990 to October 2020 was performed.

A 78-year-old pseudophakic women with pseudoexfoliation glaucoma and 6-year history of prior Descemet's stripping automated endothelial keratoplasty (DSAEK) underwent deep sclerectomy for a poorly controlled glaucoma. Exposure of the trabeculo-Descemet's window (TDW), showed a very poor drainage. An attempt to dissect the fibrous tissue off the TDW resulted in perforation of the window needing peripheral iridectomy, followed by a white fibrous band which had to be excised to prevent blockade of the filtration channel.

Context: While urinary incontinence (UI) commonly occurs after radical prostatectomy (RP), it is unclear what factors increase the risk of UI development.
Objective: To perform a systematic review of patient- and tumour-related prognostic factors for post-RP UI. The primary outcome was UI within 3 mo after RP.

Aims: To analyse the clinical practice of Italian physiotherapists within the framework of postoperative rehabilitation of rotator cuff (RC) surgery patients, and to compare it with similar studies carried out in other countries.
Methods: A web-based, voluntary, cross-sectional survey with 27 closed multiple-choice questions was developed and submitted to Italian-based physiotherapists in order to assess their clinical practice.
Results: Data from 1160 questionnaires were then analysed.

An elderly gentleman with primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC) was admitted with rectal bleeding, shown on flexible sigmoidoscopy to be arising from rectal varices, which bled despite endoscopic therapy with histoacryl glue. Therapeutic options were limited with surgery and transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt deemed too high risk, and endovascular embolisation through interventional radiology was sought. Coil-assisted retrograde transvenous obliteration was used to good effect.

Background: It is currently not known how many trainees leave vascular surgery, and their reasons for doing so are unclear. This paper is the first to publish the number of UK trainees leaving the training programme and interrogates their reasons for doing so.
Methods: An email survey was distributed to current and recent Training Programme Directors (TPDs) to quantify the number of trainees resigning between 2013 and 2019.

Tofacitinib is an oral, Janus kinase (JAK) molecule, which selectively inhibits Janus-associated tyrosine kinases JAK1 and JAK3. It has already shown efficacy in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and the prevention of organ allograft rejection in kidney transplantation. Two separate phase III placebo-controlled trials, assessing 8-week efficacy of tofacitinib induction for ulcerative colitis (UC), demonstrated superiority when compared with placebo.
