Progress in developing fluorescent probes, such as fluorescent proteins, organic dyes, and fluorescent nanoparticles, is inseparable from the advancement in optical fluorescence microscopy. Super-resolution microscopy, or optical nanoscopy, overcame the far-field optical resolution limit, known as Abbe's diffraction limit, by taking advantage of the photophysical properties of fluorescent probes. Objectives: The purpose of this study was to assess the outcome following continuous tactile biofeedback of voice sound level administered, with a portable voice accumulator to individuals with Parkinson's disease (PD).

Method: Nine out of 16 participants with PD completed a 4-week intervention program where biofeedback of voice sound level was administered with the portable voice accumulator VoxLog during speech in daily life. The feedback, a tactile vibration signal from the device, was activated when the wearer used a voice sound level below an individually predetermined threshold level, reminding the wearer to increase voice sound level during speech.

WO has been studied by means of techniques in the framework of the density functional theory using the onsite Hubbard- correction applied to the W-d states as well as using the hybrid potential. The existence of bipolarons is found to be an intrinsic feature of this oxide resulting in the presence of different oxidation states of W atoms (W and W) and in the co-existence of localized and delocalized electrons. We also discuss possible switching from the W to W and from the W to W oxidation states in the presence of an O vacancy.

Cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs) possess the ability to form helical periodic structures that generate structural colors. Due to the helicity, such self-assembled cellulose structures preferentially reflect left-handed circularly polarized light of certain colors, while they remain transparent to right-handed circularly polarized light. This study shows that combination with a liquid crystal enables modulation of the optical response to obtain light reflection of both handedness but with reversed spectral profiles.

Today the technical limit for solar towers is represented by the temperature that can be reached with current accumulation and exchange fluids (molten salts are generally adopted and the max temperatures are generally below 600 °C), even if other solutions have been suggested that reach 800 °C. An innovative solution based on liquid lead has been proposed in an ongoing experimental project named Nextower. The Nextower project aims to improve current technologies of the solar sector by transferring experience, originally consolidated in the field of nuclear plants, to accumulate heat at higher temperatures (T = 850-900 °C) through the use of liquid lead heat exchangers.

We propose the first correct special-purpose quantum circuits for preparation of Bell diagonal states (BDS), and implement them on the IBM Quantum computer, characterizing and testing complex aspects of their quantum correlations in the full parameter space. Among the circuits proposed, one involves only two quantum bits but requires adapted quantum tomography routines handling classical bits in parallel. The entire class of Bell diagonal states is generated, and several characteristic indicators, namely entanglement of formation and concurrence, CHSH non-locality, steering and discord, are experimentally evaluated over the full parameter space and compared with theory.

New α-Emitting Isotope ^{214}U and Abnormal Enhancement of α-Particle Clustering in Lightest Uranium Isotopes.

A new α-emitting isotope ^{214}U, produced by the fusion-evaporation reaction ^{182}W(^{36}Ar,4n)^{214}U, was identified by employing the gas-filled recoil separator SHANS and the recoil-α correlation technique. More precise α-decay properties of even-even nuclei ^{216,218}U were also measured in the reactions of ^{40}Ar, ^{40}Ca beams with ^{180,182,184}W targets. By combining the experimental data, improved α-decay reduced widths δ^{2} for the even-even Po-Pu nuclei in the vicinity of the magic neutron number N=126 are deduced.

Lytic polysaccharide monooxygenase (LPMO) is a newly discovered and widely studied enzyme in recent years. These enzymes play a key role in the depolymerization of sugar-based biopolymers (including cellulose, hemicellulose, chitin and starch), and have a positive significance for biomass conversion. LPMO is a copper-dependent enzyme that can oxidize and cleave glycosidic bonds in cellulose and other polysaccharides.
