Although the impetus is AI, the Guide grounds its path in pedagogical theory, considers the range of human responses, and then deals with assessment types, challenges, AI roles as tutor and learner, and required competencies.

Objectives: POCUS is a core emergency medicine skill and mainstay of early pregnancy assessment. The ultrasound competency assessment tool was developed as an entrustment-based assessment tool for use by content experts evaluating trainees performing multiple POCUS study types. Introduction: Disparities of power between high-income (HICs) and low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) have long characterised the structures of global health, including knowledge production and training. Historical case study analysis is an often-overlooked tool to improve our understanding of how to mitigate inequalities.
Methods: Drawing from the contemporary experience of collaborators from Canada and Ethiopia, we chose to examine the historical relationship between Ethiopian Emperor Haile Selassie and Canadian Jesuit Lucien Matte as a case study for international collaborations based on the model of an 'invited guest'.

Introduction: Debriefing after simulation facilitates reflective thinking and learning. Eye-tracking augmented debriefing (ETAD) may provide advantages over traditional debriefing (TD) by leveraging video replay with first-person perspective. This multisite randomized controlled trial compared the impact of ETAD with TD (without eye-tracking and without video) after simulation on 4 outcomes: (1) resident metacognitive awareness (the primary outcome), (2) cognitive load (CL) of residents and debriefers, (3) alignment of resident self-assessment and debriefer assessment scores, and (4) resident and debriefer perceptions of the debriefing experience.

Continuous professional development (CPD) is crucial for physicians to maintain and enhance their skills. In response to the changing context of CPD and health care, this study applied a design thinking approach to transform and modernise the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada's Maintenance of Certification (MOC) Program. A member-wide survey and co-design sessions with physicians, CPD leaders, and patient representatives were conducted, emphasising the importance of their insights and experiences.

In competency-based medical education (CBME), which is being embraced globally, the patient-learner-educator encounter occurs in a highly complex context which contributes to a wide range of assessment outcomes. Current and historical barriers to considering context in assessment include the existing post-positivist epistemological stance that values objectivity and validity evidence over the variability introduced by context. This is most evident in standardized testing.

Background: As competency-based medical education (CBME) curricula are introduced in residency programs across Canada, systematic evaluation efforts are needed to ensure fidelity of implementation. This study evaluated early outcomes of CBME implementation in one Canadian Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation program that was an early adopter of CBME, with an aim to inform continuous quality improvement initiatives and CBME implementation nationwide.
Methods: Using Rapid Evaluation methodology, informed by the CBME Core Components Framework, the intended outcomes of CBME were compared to actual outcomes.

Immediate implant placement in the anterior maxilla remains complex, particularly when the labial cortical plate of the socket is deficient and there is an associated class IV ridge defect with both hard- and soft-tissue deficiencies. This case report describes a novel combination of polydioxanone (PDS) suture tenting to support a synthetic bone graft with simultaneous implant placement with implants featuring a body-shift design and subcrestal internal angle correction. In addition, the implants were immediately loaded with a four-unit provisional bridge at the time of surgery, thus reducing morbidity, costs, and total treatment time.
