Background: Delirium is a common neurologic manifestation of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in older adults who present to the emergency department (ED).
Objective: To investigate clinical characteristics associated with delirium as a presenting symptom of COVID-19 in older adults and develop a logistic regression to predict the likelihood of delirium.
Method: We compared clinical characteristics in an age- and gender-matched sample of 68 delirious individuals with 68 nondelirious individuals (Mage = 78) who presented to the ED with COVID-19.

Background: Androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) improves outcomes in unfavorable-risk prostate cancer (PCa) treated with radiation therapy (RT). It was hypothesized that replacing luteinizing hormone-releasing hormone (LHRH) agonists with a 5-α-reductase inhibitor (5-ARI) would improve hormonal health-related quality of life (HRQOL) without differentially suppressing androgen-responsive (AR) gene expression.
Methods: Patients with localized unfavorable-risk PCa, aged ≥70 years or Charlson Comorbidity Index score ≥2 were treated with oral ADT (oADT), consisting of 4 months of bicalutamide, a 5-ARI, and RT at 78 Gy.

The study objectives were to evaluate the percentage of patients interested in immediate radiologic results and to measure patient anxiety and hospital loyalty with this program in a private practice community hospital setting. Between December 2018 and May 2019, 100 patients 18-89 years old with a primary diagnosis of abdominal pain had imaging orders for CT, ultrasound, or nuclear medicine-hepatobiliary iminodiacetic acid scans and subsequently were asked if they wanted immediate results. Those who opted for immediate results were given a two-question survey before and after results delivery that asked about their anxiety level and imaging center loyalty.

Background: Post hospital discharge newborn feeding education mostly focuses on breastfeeding and is primarily targeted at term infants. Preterm and late-preterm infants are at risk for poor feeding postdischarge, and feeding challenges are common after discharge from the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). Families often have questions about feeding their infants after hospital discharge.

Background: Coagulopathy in cirrhosis represents complex coagulation derangements, and thromboelastography (TEG) measures these complex derangements.
Aim: We sought to evaluate associations between TEG parameters and validated measures of cirrhosis severity, which have not been previously investigated.
Materials And Methods: Adults with cirrhosis undergoing liver transplant (LT) were identified.

Purpose: The primary objective was to evaluate the maximum tolerated dose (within 10 weeks after treatment) associated with increasing hypofractionation to the prostate fossa (PF). We hypothesized that escalating the dose per fraction (fx) to the PF would have acceptable toxicity.
Materials And Methods: Tested dose levels (DLs) were 3.

Post-ablation magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) was compared with surgical pathology in evaluation of residual post-ablation IDC and ductal carcinoma in situ.
Methods: Patients with a single focus of IDC 20 mm or smaller by pre-ablation MRI were treated with PLA.

Effective antiretroviral therapy (ART) reduces plasma HIV RNA viral load (VL) to undetectable levels and its effectiveness depends on consistent adherence. Consistent adherence and use of safe sex practices may substantially decrease the risk of HIV transmission. We sought to explore the potential association between self-reported nonadherence to ART and engaging in unsafe sexual practices capable of transmitting HIV.

Data related to feeding, growth, and length of stay from a convenience sample of 81 infants recruited pre-SOFFI training were compared with data for 75 infants recruited post-SOFFI training of the NICU staff. Subjects were not excluded on the basis of level of illness or medical diagnoses.
