A comparative adsorption study was carried out for methylene blue (MB) and its 3,7-bis(N,N-(2-hydroxyethyl)amino)-phenothiazinium dye analog (MBI). Batch experiments employed aqueous solutions and commercial filter paper. Out of seven kinetic models tested by means of four quality statistical indicators, the pseudo-second-order, the double-exponential, and the bi-linear Weber-Morris equations were best fits.

We test here the prediction capabilities of the new generation of deep learning predictors in the more challenging situation of multistate multidomain proteins by using as a case study a coiled-coil family of Nucleotide-binding Oligomerization Domain-like (NOD-like) receptors from and a few extra examples for reference. Results reveal a truly remarkable ability of these platforms to correctly predict the 3D structure of modules that fold in well-established topologies. A lower performance is noticed in modeling morphing regions of these proteins, such as the coiled coils.

Stroke is a major cause of mortality and long-term disability worldwide, making early diagnosis and effective treatment crucial for reducing its impact. In response to the limited efficacy of current treatments, alternative therapeutic strategies, such as novel biomarkers and therapies, are emerging to address this critical unmet medical need. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are small, non-coding RNAs that regulate gene expression at the post-transcriptional level.

Recent advancements in acute burn wound therapy are transforming the management of burn injuries, with a focus on improving healing times, graft integration, and minimizing complications. However, current clinical treatments face significant challenges, including the difficulty of accurately assessing wound depth and tissue viability, which can lead to suboptimal treatment planning. Traditional closure methods often struggle with issues such as delayed wound closure, limited graft survival, inadequate tissue regeneration, and insufficient vascularization.

In today's world, with its continuing advancements in genetics, the identification of Lynch syndrome (LS) increasingly relies on sophisticated genetic testing techniques. Most guidelines recommend a tailored surveillance program, as well as personalized prophylactic and therapeutic approaches, according to the type of dMMR gene mutation. Carriers of path_MLH1 and path_MSH2 genes have a higher risk of developing colorectal cancer (CRC), despite intensive colonoscopic surveillance.

Alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma (aRMS) is a rare pediatric malignant tumor with a poor prognosis, particularly when located in the rhinopharynx and sphenoidal floor, which complicates diagnosis and increases the risk of misclassification as benign growths. The specific genotype of aRMS is associated with a worse clinical outcome. In young children, especially those aged 4 to 12 years, rhinopharyngeal masses are often attributed to chronic adenoiditis; however, other benign (e.
