Educational intervention promotes injury prevention adherence in club collegiate men's lacrosse athletes.

Context: Club sports are intercollegiate athletics that are student-led and not university-funded, many of which are without professional credentialing. Collegiate club athletes have an increased rate of injury compared to their NCAA counterparts. Education and implementation of stretching and strength training have demonstrated decreased rates of noncontact injuries.

Point-of-Care Ultrasound Use by EMS Providers in Out-of-Hospital Cardiac Arrest.

Aim: Paramedics received training in point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) to assess for cardiac contractility during management of medical out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA). The primary outcome was the percentage of adequate POCUS video acquisition and accurate video interpretation during OHCA resuscitations. Secondary outcomes included POCUS impact on patient management and resuscitation protocol adherence.

The Feasibility of Ultrasound-Guided Knee Arthrocentesis Training Using Formalin-Embalmed.

Background: The use of ultrasound guidance during knee arthrocentesis has proven to increase operator confidence and accuracy, particularly in novice healthcare providers. Realistic and practical means of teaching this procedure to medical trainees are needed. This study is intended to assess the feasibility and efficacy of using formalin-embalmed human cadavers in the instruction of ultrasound-guided knee arthrocentesis to medical trainees.
