Introduction: Encephaloduroarteriosynangiosis (EDAS) for moyamoya is predominantly performed using a branch of the superficial temporal artery (STA) as the donor artery. At times, other branches of the external carotid artery are better suited for EDAS than is the STA. There is little information in the literature concerning using the posterior auricular artery (PAA) for EDAS in the pediatric age-group.

Thyrotoxic periodic paralysis (TPP) is an acute complication of hyperthyroidism. Thyrotoxic periodic paralysis is treatable, and the management consists of potassium correction, beta-blockers, and antithyroid drug (ATD) therapy. While TPP is well described in the literature, we describe a case of TPP with urticarial dermographia (UD) that resolved with a short course of antihistamines while continuing ATD therapy.

Herpes simplex keratitis resistance to antiviral treatment presents a growing concern. The herpes simplex virus has many different mechanisms of resistance to antiviral treatment, which have been well described. Resistance to acyclovir occurs because of mutations in the viral thymidylate kinase and DNA polymerase that decrease this enzyme's affinity for its substrate.

The acute stress response is characterized by activation of multiple interconnected systems in the body, resulting in the release of a flood of hormones and immune mediators into circulation. In addition to detection of these molecules in the serum, saliva can serve as a source of these markers as well and can be collected in a non-invasive way. The complete profile of salivary biomarkers associated with the hypothalamic pituitary adrenal/gonadal axes and the immune system during the acute stress response has not been fully elucidated.

Proximal epithelioid sarcomas are rare soft tissue sarcomas that have been documented in a diverse range of presentations. However, there have been few cases describing adrenal presentations. These neoplasms are thought to be driven by a loss of SWItch/sucrose non-fermentable (SWI/SNF)-related matrix-associated actin-dependent regulator of chromatin subfamily B member 1 (SMARCB1), also known as integrase interactor 1 (INI1).

Context: Vaccination status has been shown to be linked to patient-centered outcomes in those with COVID-19. However, minimal data have explored the relationship between vaccination status and representation rates after receiving monoclonal antibodies (MABs) the Delta strain of severe acute respiratory syndrome-coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) in a community setting.
Objectives: The authors sought to determine if there was a difference in patient-centered outcomes between those who were vaccinated and unvaccinated after the administration of casirivimab/imdevimab for mild-to-moderate COVID-19 during the time when the Delta strain was most prevalent.

Urologic procedures (both open and minimally invasive) can cause pain due to the surgery itself, devices placed, and post-operative issues. Thus, pain management is important for every post-procedure recovery period. Opioid use post-surgery is common and often over-prescribed contributing to persistent use by patients.
