Background And Objectives: Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) commonly causes hospitalization among US infants. A maternal vaccine preventing RSV in infants, RSV bivalent prefusion F maternal vaccine (RSVpreF), was approved by the US Food and Drug Administration and recommended by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices. Our objective was to evaluate the health benefits and cost-effectiveness of vaccinating pregnant persons in the United States using RSVpreF.

Ticks obtain a blood meal by lacerating small blood vessels and ingesting the blood that flows to the feeding site, which triggers various host responses. However, ticks face the challenge of wound healing, a process involving hemostasis, inflammation, cell proliferation and migration, and remodeling, hindering blood acquisition. To overcome these obstacles, tick salivary glands produce an array of bioactive molecules.

Although the incidence of cervical cancer (CC) has been reduced in high-income countries due to human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination and screening strategies, it remains a significant public health issue that poses a threat to women's health in low-income countries. Here, we perform a comprehensive proteogenomic profiling of CC tumors obtained from 139 Chinese women. Integrated proteogenomic analysis links genetic aberrations to downstream pathogenesis-related pathways and reveals the landscape of HPV-associated multi-omic changes.

Combinations of the highly polymorphic KIR and HLA-I genes are associated with numerous human diseases. Interpreting these associations requires a molecular understanding of the multiple killer-cell immunoglobulin-like receptor (KIR)-human leukocyte antigen-1 (HLA-I) receptor-ligand interactions on natural killer (NK) cells and identifying the salient features that underlie disease risk. We hypothesize that a critical discriminating factor in KIR-HLA-I interactions is the selective detection of HLA-I-bound peptides by KIRs.

Aim: To assess the impact of a 4-hour, hands-on mindful self-compassion workshop incorporating sand tray exercises on undergraduate nursing student understanding of mindfulness and self-compassion, as well as feelings of burnout.
Background: Burnout is the primary reason nurses leave the profession. Given widespread nursing shortages, it is important to address burnout early, with proven approaches.

Importance: The Primary Care Opioid Use Disorders (PROUD) treatment trial was a 2-year implementation trial that demonstrated the Massachusetts office-based addiction treatment (OBAT) model of nurse care management for opioid use disorder (OUD) increased OUD treatment in the 2 years after implementation began (8.2 more patient-years of OUD treatment per 10 000 primary care patients). The intervention was continued for a third year, permitting evaluation of 3-year outcomes.

Background: The study aimed to translate the Profile of Fatigue and Discomfort-Sicca Symptoms Inventory Short Form questionnaire into the Turkish language (PROFAD-SSI-SF-T) and to investigate its psychometric properties.
Methods: The study was completed by 104 patients with primary Sjögren's syndrome (pSS), and 83 patients filled out the scale a second time after 7 days for the retest measurement. The PROFAD-SSISF-T, Functional Assessment Chronic Illness Therapy (Fatigue) (FACIT-F), EULAR Sjögren's Syndrome Patient Reported Index (ESSPRI), European Quality of Life 5 Dimensions (EQ-5D), and Patient Global Assessment (PaGA) were applied to 104 patients with pSS for convergent validity.

Background/aims: Due to a lack of standard pediatric prescribing information, medicines are often used in a dosage form or for an indication that has not been investigated in children. Pediatric clinical trial research networks aim to facilitate the timely availability of innovative drugs for children by developing standardized trial facilitation and conduct processes. This paper aims to assess the (pre)feasibility duration and characteristics of a US-sponsored clinical trial, in collaboration with I-ACT for Children, for distribution across European sites via European clinical research facilitation networks.

Objectives Cognitive impairments associated with cancer and cancer treatments have yet to determine definitive causes, gold-standard assessments, or effective treatments to offset or mitigate symptoms. The purpose of the current study was to determine relationships between women with breast cancer and the negative memory impact of treatment and other factors. Materials and methods This online study included 171 participants receiving at least one type of treatment for breast cancer.

Background: Limited understanding of the biology predisposing certain human papillomavirus-related (HPV+) oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinomas (OPSCCs) to relapse impedes therapeutic personalization. We aimed to identify molecular traits that distinguish recurrence-prone tumors.
Methods: 50 HPV+ OPSCCs that later recurred (cases) and 50 non-recurrent controls matched for stage, therapy, and smoking history were RNA-sequenced.

The field of precision oncology has witnessed several advances that stimulated the development of new clinical trial designs and the emergence of real-world data (RWD) as an important resource for evidence generation in healthcare decision-making. Here, we highlight our experience with an innovative approach to a set of Adaptive, Universal Principles for Real-world Observational Studies (AUPROS). To demonstrate the utility of these principles, we used a mixed-methods approach to assess three studies that follow AUPROS at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre: (1) Molecular Epidemiology of ThorAcic Lesions (METAL), (2) Translational Head And NecK Study (THANKS), and (3) CAnadian CAncers With Rare Molecular Alterations (CARMA; NCT04151342).

Native mass spectrometry (nMS) is becoming a crucial tool for analyzing membrane proteins (MPs), yet challenges remain in solubilizing and stabilizing their native conformations while resolving and characterizing the heterogeneity introduced by post-translational modifications and ligand binding. This review highlights recent advancements and persistent challenges in preparing MPs for nMS. Optimizing detergents and additives can significantly reduce sample heterogeneity and surface charge, enhancing MP signal quality and structural preservation in nMS.

Understanding users' acceptance of smoking cessation interventions features is a precursor to mobile cessation apps' uptake and use. We gauged perceptions of three features of smoking cessation mobile interventions (self-monitoring, tailored feedback and support, educational content) and their design in two smoking cessation apps, Quit Journey and QuitGuide, among young adults with low socioeconomic status (SES) who smoke. A convenience sample of 38 current cigarette smokers 18-29-years-old who wanted to quit and were non-college-educated nor currently enrolled in a four-year college participated in 12 semi-structured virtual focus group discussions on GoTo Meeting.

Lung cancer is the most common cause of cancer mortality globally, and the prevalence of lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), the most common lung cancer subtype, has increased sharply in East Asia. Early diagnosis leads to better survival rates, but this requires an improved understanding of the molecular changes during early tumorigenesis, particularly in non-smokers. Here, we performed whole exome-sequencing and RNA-sequencing of samples from 94 East Asian patients with precancerous lesions (25 with atypical adenomatous hyperplasia [AAH]; 69 with adenocarcinoma in situ [AIS]) and 73 patients with early invasive lesions (minimally invasive adenocarcinoma [MIA]).
