Background: Breast Cancer and cardiovascular diseases are amongst the two leading causes of mortality in the United States, and the two conditions are connected in part because of recognized cardiotoxicity of cancer treatments. The aim of this study is to investigate the predictors risk factors for thirty-day readmission in female breast cancer survivors presenting with acute heart failure.
Methods: This is a retrospective cohort study of acute heart failure (AHF) hospitalization in female patients with breast cancer in 2019 using the National Readmission Database (NRD), which is the largest publicly available all-payer inpatient readmission database in the United States.

Right ventricular failure (RVF) complicates 30-50% of cases with inferior wall myocardial infarctions (IWMI). Large-scale studies exploring the recent trends in morbidity and mortality of IWMI with RVF in the context of improved reperfusion strategies are currently lacking. The International Classification of Diseases, Tenth Revision, Clinical Modification codes were used to query the National Inpatient Sample of 2018-2019 to yield IWMI admissions and stratified based on presence of RVF.

Background: Rilonacept inhibits the interleukin-1 pathway, and extended treatment in patients with recurrent pericarditis (RP) reduced recurrence risk by 98% in the phase 3 trial, RHAPSODY long-term extension (LTE). Severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS)-CoV-2 vaccination and/or infection may trigger pericarditis recurrence, and in clinical practice, it is unknown whether to continue rilonacept during SARS-CoV-2 infection. This post-hoc analysis of the RHAPSODY LTE aimed to inform rilonacept management in RP patients vaccinated against SARS-CoV-2 or who contract COVID-19.

The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in many therapies, of which many are repurposed and used for other diseases in the last decade such in Influenza and Ebola. We intend to provide a robust foundation for cardiovascular outcomes of the therapies to better understand the rationale for the clinical trials that were conducted during the COVID-19 pandemic, and to gain more clarity on the steps moving forward should the repurposing provide clinical benefit in pandemic situations. With this state-of-the-art review, we aim to improve the understanding of the cardiovascular involvement of the therapies prior to, during, and after the COVID-19 pandemic to provide meaningful findings to the cardiovascular specialists and clinical trials for therapies, moving on from the period of pandemic urgency.

Background: The relationship between inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and cardiovascular outcomes among pregnant women has yet to be thoroughly investigated. Our aim is to assess the odds of cardiovascular disease and cardiac arrhythmias during hospital admissions for delivery and identify contributing factors associated with cardiovascular complications in pregnant women with IBD.
Methods: We performed a retrospective analysis of data from the National Inpatient Sample, obtained from delivery admissions of pregnant women with and without IBD, identified via International Classification of Diseases codes, from 2009 to 2019.

Introduction: Bleeding, especially non-variceal upper gastrointestinal bleeding (NVUGIB), remains the most common cause of readmission in left ventricular assist device (LVAD) patients. Any readmission after NVUGIB carries a worse prognosis.
Aim: To compare readmission outcomes in NVUGIB patients with and without LVAD.

Background: Wellens' syndrome is characterised by a history of chest pain with an abnormal electrocardiogram (EKG), demonstrating biphasic or deeply inverted T waves in leads V2-3 (may extend to involve all precordial and lateral limb leads - the type B Wellens' pattern). A Wellens' EKG pattern is considered highly specific for critical stenosis involving the ostial/proximal left anterior descending artery (LAD). However, there are no reported cases of an association of a Wellens' EKG pattern with myopericarditis.

Introduction: The Trifecta bioprosthetic valve has been commonly used for surgical aortic valve replacement (SAVR). Multiple studies have been done to define the rate of structural valve degeneration (SVD) and failure (SVF), but the outcomes are still debatable. Therefore, we aim to conduct this single-center study to estimate the rate and predictors of SVD/SVF.
