This article is a continuation of work on the use of plastic waste (such as PP, PS, LDPE, HDPE, and their mixtures) processed in the proprietary pyrolysis process as asphalt additives. The article carried out detailed tests of the mixes of selected additives with pen-graded bitumen 50/70, taking into account, among others, the influence of impurities and the ratio of PE to PP in the additives as well as short- (RTFOT) and long-term (RTFOT + PAV) ageing. An extensive research program was carried out, including functional and rheological tests in a wide range of temperatures.

The most frequently mentioned are: appropriate protection design selected for the operating conditions, type of protection-type of metal and/or coatings, surface preparation, and proper application. Particular emphasis is placed on the type of protective materials.

Road layers should be properly compacted to obtain an adequate bearing capacity and durability. Both the unbound and hydraulically bound mixtures used in the layers require compaction. After compaction and hardening, soil mixed with a binder acquires mechanical features that unbound soil lacks, including tensile strength () and unconfined compressive strength ().

Powder coatings are widely applied for corrosion protection of steel, aluminum, and hot dip galvanized steel in a variety of corrosive environments. Powder coatings are subjected to a number of strict laboratory tests to determine their mechanical properties, corrosion resistance, and color stability. Among European quality certificates for powder coatings applied to galvanized steel, the most commonly recognized are GSB-ST and Qualisteelcoat certificates, which also refer to the EN 13438 standard.

Asphalt pavement construction technology is an industry branch that undergoes constant development. Analyzing the directions of the development, one can divide it into two mainstreams: the development of roadworks equipment and the development of roadworks technology. Microwave heating technique has been mentioned in the road industry from the early '70s, but research records from practical full-scale use are very rare.

The first steel with improved resistance towards atmospheric corrosion, the so-called weathering steel, was patented in the USA in 1933 and was initially used for coal railway cars, and after that, in building and bridge engineering. Weathering steels show higher corrosion resistance than carbon steels in many types of atmosphere due to their ability to form a compact, stable, adherent and protective patina during the time of exposure. Morphological evaluation of the appearance of the corrosion product layer, together with phase analysis of its components, can enable determination of the type of patina and the degree of protection of the steel.

The use of repair mortars for concrete structures repair with no or limited resistance to the impact caused by freeze and thaw cycles is often the primary repair failure cause. This is particularly important in Poland. Due to the geographical location of the country, there is a large temperature difference between summer and winter.

The goal of the work was to describe properties of asphalt-cement concrete (ACC) with reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP), Portland cement, sand, and rubber powder (RP), as a material to base courses of road pavements. The mixtures were designed with the RAP in the amount of 75, 80, and 85% (m/m) and chosen cement-sand-rubber (CSR) mortar. Three CSR mortars were composed with cement CEM 42.

In the case of the monitoring of bridges, the determination of vertical displacements is one of the most important issues. A new measuring system has been developed and implemented for assessment of railway bridges based on measurements of the structural response to passing trains. The system uses inertial sensors: Inclinometers and accelerometers that do not need any referential points.

Lead (Pb) addition to hot-dip galvanizing (HDG) baths affects the physical characteristics of zinc coatings and is also useful to protect kettles. The influence of lead additions on both corrosion rate and morphology as well as on structure of zinc coating is less investigated. In this paper, three different additions, (Pb = 0.
