Background: Epidemiological surveys have monitored chronic non-cancer pain (CNCP) and investigated associated factors in Denmark for more than 20 years. This study aimed to analyse CNCP prevalence in the Danish population from 2000 to 2023 and its associations with mental health status and loneliness.
Methods: Population-based surveys were conducted between 2000 and 2023.

Study Question: To what extent can hypertensive disorders in pregnancy (HDP) explain the higher risk of preterm birth following frozen embryo transfer (frozen-ET) and fresh embryo transfer (fresh-ET) in ART compared with naturally conceived pregnancies?
Summary Answer: HDP did not contribute to the higher risk of preterm birth in pregnancies after fresh-ET but mediated 20.7% of the association between frozen-ET and preterm birth.
What Is Known Already: Risk of preterm birth is higher after ART compared to natural conception.

Background: Transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) is a percutaneous catheter-based treatment of aortic stenosis as an alternative to open heart valve surgery. In cases of TAVI endocarditis, the treatment possibilities may be limited as surgical removal of the infected valve may be associated with a high risk in elderly, comorbid or frail patients. The propensity of bacteria to form a biofilm on foreign material is assumed to be of importance part of the disease process in TAVI endocarditis, but no studies on biofilm formation on TAVI valves have been conducted.

Context: Heart failure (HF) is considered a multifaceted and life-threatening syndrome characterized by high symptom-burden and significant mortality.
Objectives: To describe the symptom-burden in patients with HF and identify their palliative care needs. In this respect, symptom burden related to sex, age and classification of HF using New York Heart Association Functional Classification (NYHA) were analyzed.

Background: Kidney outcomes have been variably defined using nonstandardized composite end points in key heart failure trials, thus introducing complexity in their interpretation and cross-trial comparability. We examined the effects of steroidal mineralocorticoid receptor antagonists, the angiotensin receptor-neprilysin inhibitor sacubitril/valsartan, and SGLT2 (sodium-glucose cotransporter-2) inhibitors on composite kidney end points using uniform definitions in 6 contemporary heart failure trials.
Methods: Individual participant-level data from trials of steroidal mineralocorticoid receptor antagonists (EMPHASIS-HF [Eplerenone in Mild Patients Hospitalization and Survival Study in Heart Failure], TOPCAT [Treatment of Preserved Cardiac Function Heart Failure With an Aldosterone Antagonist] Americas), angiotensin receptor-neprilysin inhibitor (PARADIGM-HF [Prospective Comparison of Angiotensin Receptor-Neprilysin Inhibitor With ACEI to Determine Impact on Global Mortality and Morbidity in Heart Failure], PARAGON-HF [Prospective Comparison of Angiotensin Receptor-Neprilysin Inhibitor With Angiotensin-Receptor Blockers Global Outcomes in HF With Preserved Ejection Fraction]), and SGLT2 inhibitors (DAPA-HF [Dapagliflozin and Prevention of Adverse Outcomes in Heart Failure], DELIVER [Dapagliflozin Evaluation to Improve the Lives of Patients With Preserved Ejection Fraction Heart Failure]) were included.

Women who have experienced conflict-related sexual violence report significant long-term effects, including posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression and relationship difficulties. Research has demonstrated that maternal trauma is associated with children's behavioural difficulties and challenges in family functioning, such as impaired communication and harsh parenting. This pilot study is aimed at evaluating the preliminary effectiveness of family therapy for Kosovar mothers who experienced conflict-related sexual violence in 1998-1999 and later developed PTSD and their children in improving family functioning and reducing behavioural difficulties in postwar times.

Craniosynostosis constitutes one of the most common congenital cranial malformations, affecting approximately 6/10,0000 live births. A genetic etiology has long been known for several forms of syndromic craniosynostosis, including pathogenic variants in TWIST1 and FGFR3 in children with Saethre-Chotzen and Muenke syndrome. Over the last decade, reports of genetic aberrations in TCF12 in children with craniosynostosis have emerged, in particular in cases with premature closure of the coronal suture(s).

Background/objectives: Long-term consequences of opioid consumption, such as misuse, have been a major concern in patients with chronic non-cancer pain. Potentially opioid misuse may also be a consequence in patients with cancer in opioid treatment which encouraged us to undertake this systematic review assessing the frequency of opioid misuse in this population.
Materials/methods: The search strategy comprised words related to cancer, opioid misuse, and frequency.

Background: Despite the widely reported success of knee arthroplasty, studies show that 1.6-3 % of patients undergo revision within the first postoperative year predominantly due to infection. Preoperative skin preparation may potentially decrease the bacterial load and consequently, the risk of periprosthetic joint infections.

Aims: To assess whether the optimal mean arterial blood pressure (MAP) target after out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) is influenced by age and a history of arterial hypertension.
Methods And Results: A post hoc analysis of data from the Blood Pressure and Oxygenation Targets in Post Resuscitation Care trial. The trial included 789 comatose patients randomized to a MAP target of 63 or 77 mmHg.

Introduction: In Denmark, where human papillomavirus (HPV) -based cervical cancer screening is being implemented, the aim of this pilot implementation study was to test a specific screening algorithm, assess follow-up examination attendance, and measure the proportion of precancer lesions found in relation to the number of women referred for colposcopy.
Material And Methods: From May 2017 to December 2020, 36 417 women in the uptake area of the Department of Pathology, Vejle Hospital, Region of Southern Denmark, were included in the HPV group. Women positive for HPV16/18 irrespective of cytology and women positive for other high-risk HPV (hrHPV) types having concomitant abnormal cytology were referred directly to colposcopy.
