Transcriptomic analysis of microdissected human glomeruli has suggested novel molecular signatures associated with MN by revealing several genes differentially upregulated in MN compared to other glomerular diseases. We focused on a novel protein, Family with sequence similarity 114 member A1 (FAM114A1) that was identified as the top classifier gene in the dataset. Introduction: Following liver transplantation (LT), adequate nutrition is essential, as malnutrition may contribute to slower growth in pediatric patients and put patients at risk of complications following transplant. Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID) is an eating disorder characterized by restrictive eating patterns that compromise nutrition. Patients with ARFID may have significant difficulty meeting nutritional needs due to fear of gastrointestinal distress, making it especially difficult to manage in patients following LT.

Introduction: Individuals with tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) often present with refractory epilepsy and may be undergoing treatment with vagus nerve stimulation (VNS) to control seizures. Surveillance magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is necessary to monitor for the renal angiomyolipomas associated with TSC; however, MRI of the abdomen is not approved for patients withVNS therapy. We have many TSC patients with refractory epilelpsy who benefitted from VNS therapy, so we developed an MRI protocol that allows MRI of the abdomen to be performed in these patients to permit safe imaging of their kidneys.

Background: Family-based treatment (FBT), the leading intervention for adolescents with anorexia nervosa (AN), is severely understudied in outpatient care settings that serve publicly-insured populations. Disruption of the circadian clock in skeletal muscle worsens local and systemic health, leading to decreased muscle strength, metabolic dysfunction, and aging-like phenotypes. Whole-body knockout mice that lack Bmal1, a key component of the molecular clock, display premature aging. Here, by using adeno-associated viruses, we rescued Bmal1 expression specifically in the skeletal muscle fibers of Bmal1-KO mice and found that this engaged the circadian clock and clock output gene expression, contributing to extended lifespan.

How do older individuals cope with health impairments and the potential economic losses that ensue? Exploiting longitudinal data on a nationally representative sample of Chinese seniors, we investigate whether and how familial economic support responds to sudden and sizable changes in health. We find that both financial and instrumental support from children go up following a health shock. Furthermore, financial transfers coming from siblings, other relatives and friends increase by a larger percentage than those from children.

Acute stressors tend to shift preferences toward comfort foods, yet they do not ubiquitously increase the amount of food consumed. Emotional content, specifically negative valence, can differentially influence speech production in younger and older adults' autobiographical narratives, which have been interpreted as reflecting age differences in emotion regulation. However, age differences in emotional reactivity are another possible explanation, as younger and older adults frequently differ in their affective responses to negative and positive pictures. The present experiment investigated whether a picture's valence (pleasantness) and arousal (intensity) influenced older adults' production of narratives about those pictures.
