Background: Leopard spots can appear in a variety of diseases; however, they are extremely rare in children with rhegmatogenous retinal detachment. This study presents two such rare cases in which leopard spot retinopathy was the initial manifestation of rhegmatogenous retinal detachment.
Case Presentation: Case 1 involved a 4-year-old boy had previously been diagnosed with left eye uveitis and received systemic steroid therapy at a local hospital, but symptoms persisted.

Purpose: To investigate the surgical effect of complete drainage of suprachoroidal fluid (SCF) before vitrectomy to avoid perioperative steroids in rhegmatogenous retinal detachment combined with choroidal detachment (RRD-CD) eyes.
Methods: It was a prospective, randomized controlled trial. 58 eyes were randomly divided into the no steroids (NS) group and local steroids (LS) group, 29 eyes each, respectively.

To investigate the use of short-term postoperative endotamponade with perfluorocarbon liquids (PFCLs) for the treatment of giant retinal tear-associated rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (RRD). This retrospective study evaluated patients who had 2-stage surgery, which entailed pars plana vitrectomy (PPV) completed in 2 consecutive surgeries spaced 5 days apart, during which a short-term tamponade with PFCL was used (Group 1), and patients who had conventional single-stage PPV with long-term silicone oil (SO) tamponade (Group 2). The study comprised 74 eyes of 68 patients, 52 in Group 1 and 22 in Group 2.

Proliferative Vitreoretinopathy (PVR) is a major complication of surgical repair for Rhegmatogenous Retinal Detachment (RRD). Methotrexate (MTX), a folate antimetabolite, has shown promise in targeting the pathological processes involved in PVR, such as cell proliferation inhibition, fibrosis and anti-inflammation. Systematic review examines the use of MTX in PVR by analysing different administration methods and outcomes.

Importance: In-office suprachoroidal viscopexy (SCVEXY) is a relatively new procedure for rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (RRD), but minimal information is available regarding outcomes and safety.
Objective: To report outcomes with in-office SCVEXY for primary acute RRD.
Design, Setting, And Participants: This retrospective case series was conducted at St Michael's Hospital in Toronto, Ontario, Canada from June 2023 to February 2024 among consecutive patients with primary acute RRDs who presented with retinal tears that were reachable with the current in-office SCVEXY technique in the temporal or nasal retina.

To assess and compare the results of pars plana vitrectomy (PPV) with short-term perfluorocarbon liquid (PFCL) tamponade and combined PPV with scleral buckling to treat rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (RRD) with inferior retinal breaks complicated by proliferative vitreoretinopathy (PVR). The medical records of patients who had vitreoretinal surgery for RRD with inferior retinal breaks complicated by PVR were reviewed. Group 1 had PPV with PFCL, and Group 2 had PPV with scleral buckling.

Background: This study aimed to report and recall a simple method to remove the lens capsule ab externo when performing intrascleral fixation of an intracapsular intraocular lens (IOL) dislocation with reuse of the IOL.
Case Presentation: A 43-year-old Japanese male patient underwent pars plana vitrectomy, phacoemulsification, and IOL fixation for rhegmatogenous retinal detachment in the right eye 10 years prior. A 3-piece IOL was intraocularly fixed during the initial procedure.

Aim: To retrospectively evaluate the anatomical and functional success of surgical treatment of rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (RRD) in the only remaining seeing eye.
Material And Methods: The study included 28 eyes of 28 patients, 19 (68%) of whom were men, with an average age of 46 years. They were operated on by a single surgeon for RRD at the Eye Clinic of the University Hospital and Faculty of Medicine, Masaryk University in Brno, from July 1, 2019, to April 30, 2023, using cryosurgical techniques and/or 25G+ pars plana vitrectomy (PPV).
Aim: Retinal detachment is an acute sight-threatening condition that requires immediate surgical intervention. The aim of this study is to compare the outcomes of pars plana vitrectomy (PPV) for uncomplicated rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (RRD) between the different types of gases used, the position, and the number of tears.
Material And Methods: This is a retrospective non-randomized comparative study of patients with uncomplicated RRD treated at the Department of Ophthalmology from March 2018 to April 2021 using PPV.

Purpose: To describe vascular anomalies and nonperfusion areas (NPAs) of stage 4 familial exudative vitreoretinopathy (FEVR) with radial retinal folds (RFs) and analyze their potential clinical significance.
Methods: Retinal detachment (RD) could exceed the RFs due to exudative, rhegmatogenous, or tractional factors, which we could call secondary RD. Fluorescein fundus angiography (FFA) and risk factors for progression to secondary RD of pediatric stage 4 FEVR patients with radial RFs were respectively explored.

Purpose: To present a case of aggressive proliferative vitreoretinopathy (PVR) managed with intraoperative and postoperative intravitreal methotrexate (MTX) in a patient with congenital aniridia (CI).
Observations: A 41-year-old female with a history of CI, living-related conjunctival-kerato-limbal allograft transplantation, and multiple intraocular surgeries presents with tractional retinal detachment (TRD) and aggressive grade C PVR 52 days after a primary 23-gauge pars plana vitrectomy (PPV) with rhegmatogenous retinal detachment repair. She underwent 23-gauge PPV, TRD repair including membrane peeling of pre- and sub-retinal PVR, 5000 centistoke silicone oil exchange, endolaser, and MTX infusion.

Purpose: To comprehensively investigate the suprachoroidal space (SCS) in the context of rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (RRD) using swept-source optical coherence tomography (SS-OCT).
Methods: We conducted a post hoc analysis of 90 consecutive patients with a primary RRD. Baseline SS-OCT scans were graded for the presence and thickness of the suprachoroidal space.

Background: Retinal detachment (RD) is common (23%-40%) in eyes with uveal coloboma due to early vitreous syneresis, inherent defects at the locus minoris resistentiae, and breaks in intercalary membrane (ICM).[1] Managing eyes with coloboma RD is difficult due to complexity of accessing and repairing retinal breaks. In RD surgeries, tamponade agents are used to provide surface tension across retinal breaks to prevent further fluid flow into the subretinal space until the effect of retinopexy is permanent.

To determine the various factors affecting the duration of scleral buckle surgery, the percentage of profitable scleral buckle cases, and the operational break-even point. This single-center retrospective consecutive series comprised patients diagnosed with primary rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (RD) repaired with scleral buckling between 2019 and 2021. The primary outcome was operative time.
