The COVID-19 patients showed hyperinflammatory response depending on the severity of the disease but little have been reported about this response in oncologic patients that also were infected with the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). Sixty-five circulating cytokines/chemokines were quantified in 15 oncologic patients, just after SARS-CoV-2 infection and fourteen days later, and their levels were compared in patients who required hospitalisation by COVID-19 versus non-hospitalised patients. Electroencephalography (EEG) has shown potential for identifying early-stage biomarkers of neurocognitive dysfunction associated with dementia due to Alzheimer's disease (AD). Purpose: Periodic limb movements (PLMs) can be found isolated or related to other sleep disorders, as Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA). Nevertheless, this association was described before the proposal for modification of the World Association of Sleep Medicine (WASM), which incorporated major changes modifying the definition of respiratory-related leg movements (RRLM) so that the relationship between OSA and PLM could be affected.

Methods: A total of 131 PSG were studied (children with ages from 5 to 12 years old), all referred because of a suspicion of sleep-disordered breathing (65 children were diagnosed of OSA, and 66 presented snoring but no sleep apnea).

Cyclin-dependent kinases 4 and 6 (CDK4/6) inhibitors demonstrated activity in terms of progression-free survival (PFS) in advanced dedifferentiated liposarcoma (DD-LPS), a sarcoma with CDK4 amplification. CDK4 overexpression is by far more common than amplification in sarcomas and it might be a rational target for CDK inhibitors. Preclinical investigators of this study found that CDK4 overexpression, while not of CDKN2A, was the most consistent predictive factor for palbociclib efficacy in sarcomas.

A Delphi-based survey was designed to assess the opinions of clinical hematologists (n = 17) and clinical immunologists (n = 18) from across Spain on secondary immunodeficiencies (SID) in the management of oncohematological patients. There was 100% agreement on the need to have available guidelines for the management of immunodeficiency in hematological patients; to perform a baseline immunological evaluation in patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), multiple myeloma (MM), lymphoma and hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) recipients; and to quantify serum IgG, IgA and IgM levels when SID is suspected. Retinitis pigmentosa (RP) is the most common inherited retinal disease (IRD) and is characterized by photoreceptor degeneration and progressive vision loss. We report 4 patients presenting with RP from 3 unrelated families with variants in TBC1D32, which to date has never been associated with an IRD. Corneal dystrophies are hereditary diseases affecting the corneal tissue; they are bilateral, symmetrical and unrelated to environmental or systemic conditions. Congenital corneal stromal dystrophy is a very rare autosomal dominant dystrophy that is caused by a mutation in the DCN gene that encodes decorin (a proteoglycan of the extracellular matrix). We herein report 4 cases of congenital stromal corneal dystrophy in 2 families, highlighting the previously undescribed histopathologic features, the possible differential diagnosis of this entity and the key role played by decorin staining in its diagnosis.
