IgG antibodies (Abs) that form complexes with Fc receptors (FcRs) on innate immune cells can activate Fc-mediated immune functions. Methods: Blood specimens were tested using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. We analyzed seven vaccination regimens: (1) one dose of AZ or SV, (2) two doses of homologous (2AZ, 2SV) or heterologous (1AZ + 1PZ) vaccines, and (3) three doses of heterologous vaccines (2SV + 1AZ, 2SV + 1PZ).

The active metabolites of primaquine, in particular 5-hydroxyprimaquine, likely responsible for the clearance of dormant hypnozoites, are produced through the hepatic CYP450 2D6 (CYP2D6) enzymatic pathway. With the inherent instability of 5-hydroxyprimaquine, a stable surrogate, 5,6-orthoquinone, can now be detected and measured in the urine as part of primaquine pharmacokinetic studies. This study performed CYP450 2D6 genotyping and primaquine pharmacokinetic testing, to include urine 5,6-orthoquinone, in 27 healthy adult Cambodians, as a preliminary step to prepare for future clinical studies assessing primaquine efficacy for Plasmodium vivax infections.

Methods: This participant-blind, observer-blind study randomised participants 3:1 to SII-ChAdOx1 nCoV-19 or AZD1222 (ChAdOx1 nCoV-19) (immunogenicity/reactogenicity cohort) and 3:1 to SII-ChAdOx1 nCoV-19 or placebo (safety cohort). The study participants were enrolled from 14 hospitals across India between August 25 and October 31, 2020.
