Diabetic wound management remains a significant challenge in clinical care due to bacterial infections, excessive inflammation, presence of excessive reactive oxygen species (ROS), and impaired angiogenesis. The use of multifunctional wound dressings has several advantages in diabetic wound healing. Moreover, the balance of macrophage polarization plays a crucial role in promoting skin regeneration.

In women of childbearing age, extensive decidualization, shedding and remodeling of the endometrium during the menstrual cycle are fundamental for successful pregnancy. The role of prostaglandins (PGs) in menstruation has long been proposed in humans, and the rate-limiting enzyme cyclooxygenase was shown to play a key role in endometrial breakdown and shedding in a mouse menstrual-like model in our previous study. However, the specific types of PGs involved and their respective roles remain unclear.

Reconciling the dilemma between rapid degradation and overdose toxicity is challenging in biodegradable materials when shifting from bulk to porous materials. Here, we achieve significant bone ingrowth into Zn-based porous scaffolds with 90% porosity via osteoinmunomodulation. At microscale, an alloy incorporating 0.

In order to improve the wound repair environment, this research has successfully developed a new multifunctional hydrogel dressing, which has strong adaptability and can accelerate wound healing. Pioneering the development of metal-ion-controlled hydrogel dressings, this research integrates dopamine and imidazole double crosslinked networks with metal-ion coordination. The resulting hydrogel dressing exhibits a notable antibacterial effect and exceptional mechanical properties, withstanding pressures of up to 12 kPa, tensions of 25 kPa, and maintaining skin adhesion at 6 kPa.

Objective: The association between serum alanine aminotransferase (ALT) concentrations and the incidence of hypertension remains unclear. To explore the association between serum ALT levels and the risk of incident hypertension based on the Kailuan cohort study.
Methods: People who had participated in health check-ups in 2006-2007 without hypertension, cardiovascular, or liver diseases were enrolled and received follow-ups every two years until December 2017.

Base editing of hematopoietic stem/progenitor cells (HSPCs) is an attractive strategy for treating immunohematologic diseases. However, the feasibility of using adenine-base-edited HSPCs for treating X-linked severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID-X1), the influence of dose-response relationships on immune cell generation, and the potential risks have not been demonstrated in vivo. Here, a humanized SCID-X1 mouse model was established, and 86.

What Is Added By This Report?: In this retrospective cohort study, a J-shaped relationship between preconception serum ALT levels and risk of PTB was observed, indicating that both significantly elevated and decreased ALT levels may contribute to the risk.
What Are The Implications For Public Health Practice?: Maintaining optimal preconception serum ALT levels may reduce the risk of PTB, thereby informing specific preventive measures for women of reproductive age.

Objective: This study aims to compare the safety and efficacy of misoprostol administered orally and vaginally in obese pregnant women at term with either gestational hypertension or diabetes.
Methods: A total of 264 pregnant women were enrolled and categorized into two groups based on their primary condition: hypertension (134 cases) or diabetes mellitus (130 cases) and were further divided into subgroups for misoprostol administration: orally (Oral group) or vaginally (Vaginal group). The primary outcomes measured were changes in the Bishop score following treatment, induction of labor (IOL) success rates, requirement for oxytocin augmentation, duration of labor, mode of delivery, and cesarean section rates.
Background: Abnormal preconception thyrotropin levels were associated with fecundability and adverse fetomaternal outcomes, however, little is known regarding the natural change of serum thyrotropin in euthyroid preconception women. Thus, we performed a population-based study to evaluate the progression to abnormal thyrotropin in euthyroid preconception women.
Methods: This retrospective cohort study used data from the National Free Prepregnancy Checkups Project (NFPCP) collected between 2010 and 2020.

The study aimed to develop a multifunctional wound dressing with enhanced antibacterial properties and wound healing promotion. The synthesis process involved preparing oxidized regenerated cellulose (ORC) following a modified procedure, synthesizing chitosan/silver nanoparticles (CS/Ag NPs) via an in-situ reduction method, and subsequently preparing ORC/CS/Lys@Ag NPs hydrogels. Characterization techniques including FTIR, XRD, SEM, and EDS were employed to analyze functional groups, lattice structure, morphology, and elemental composition.

Early detection and treatment of congenital heart disease (CHD) can significantly improve the prognosis of children. However, inexperienced sonographers often face difficulties in recognizing CHD through transthoracic echocardiogram (TTE) images. In this study, 2-dimensional (2D) and Doppler TTEs of children collected from 2 clinical groups from Beijing Children's Hospital between 2018 and 2022 were analyzed, including views of apical 4 chamber, subxiphoid long-axis view of 2 atria, parasternal long-axis view of the left ventricle, parasternal short-axis view of aorta, and suprasternal long-axis view.

The normal aging process is accompanied by cognitive decline, and previous studies have indicated the crucial role of the hypothalamus in regulating both aging and cognition. However, the precise molecular mechanism underlying this relationship remains unclear. Therefore, this present study aimed to identify potential predictors of cognitive decline associated with aging specifically within the hypothalamus.

Background: Immunotherapy is a practical therapeutic approach in breast cancer (BRCA), and the role of FLI1 in immune regulation has gradually been unveiled. However, the specific role of FLI1 in BRCA was conflicted; thus, additional convincing evidence is needed.
Methods: We explored the upstream regulation of FLI1 expression via summary data-based Mendelian randomization (SMR) analysis and ncRNA network construction centering on FLI1 using BRCA genome-wide association study (GWAS) summary data with expression quantitative trait loci (eQTLs) and DNA methylation quantitative trait loci (mQTLs) from the blood and a series of in silico analyses, respectively.

Tektins are microtubule inner proteins (MIPs) and localize at the inside lumen of doublet microtubules (DMTs) of cilia/flagella. TEKTIP1, a newly identified protein by cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM), is proposed to be localized at the center of the tektin bundle and hypothesized to recruit tektins or stabilize the bundle. However, the physiological role of TEKTIP1 is unknown.

Endometrial cancer (EC) stands as one of the most prevalent gynecological malignancies affecting women, with its incidence and disease-related mortality steadily on the rise. Disulfiram (DSF), an FDA-approved medication primarily used for treating alcohol addiction, has exhibited promising anti-tumor properties. Studies have revealed DSF's capacity for enhanced anti-tumor activity, particularly when combined with copper.

Premature ovarian insufficiency (POI) patients experience a decline in ovarian function and a reduction in serum reproductive hormones, leading to a significant impact on the outcomes of assisted reproductive technology. Despite the absence of an effective clinical treatment to restore fertility in POI patients, recent research has indicated that cord blood plasma (CBP) derived from human umbilical cord blood (hUCB) may offer therapeutic benefits for various degenerative diseases. The primary aim of this study is to explore approaches for enhancing ovarian function and serum reproductive hormones through the administration of CBP in a murine model.

Objectives: To comprehensively assess the association of husband smoking with wives' thyrotropin abnormality.
Methods: This population-based retrospective cohort study included 2 406 090 Chinese reproductive-aged women who had participated twice in the National Free Pre-pregnancy Checkups Project between 2010 and 2020. Multivariate-adjusted odds ratios and 95% confidence intervals for subnormal and supranormal thyrotropin were estimated according to the husband's smoking status.
